  1. It might be because Hockey has gotten so expensive to watch in person and both Winnipeg and Buffalo just don't have the fans willing to pay a day's pay to watch their team. I as a Leafs fan have come to terms that I may never get into our barn again in my life

  2. It's clearly all Bills in Buffalo . No wonder they went 17-20-4 at home but 25-13-3 on the road last year . Players will never admit it but it's discouraging playing in front of that few so naturally you won't be as pumped . The only time they have a decent attendance is when they host the Leafs and it's mostly Leafs fans making the short drive down the QEW .

  3. A lot of people just can’t afford it. People are not that wealthy in Buffalo, so pull your head out of your ass.

  4. its the fault of management. Sabres fans, tell me why you don't want to attend a game. Whats different? What don't you like?

  5. Glad it’s not just Winnipeg. Especially in Canada and the prices being too high, teams like Toronto are having issues too with the lower bowl being corporates mostly because of the price of seats n shit. Man it’s getting bad.

  6. Yet let's take a shot at Winnipeg for having some empty seats and try to make them move back to Atlanta or anywhere in the south US.

  7. You answered your own question with attendance when you talked about the NHL record playoff drought. There are more reasons, but when the pre-season was a joke and the first couple of games were a lack luster performance, I'm not surprised attendance was bad. I am looking forward to seeing them play the Canes (in NC) though and I would imagine the stadium will be split again with a bunch of Sabres jersey wearing fans rooting for them, me included.

  8. Believe me, if I still lived in Buffalo, I would be going to a lot of games. I moved out of Buffalo in 2012 and I currently live in Nashville so unfortunately the only Sabres game I can catch is the one at Bridgestone.

  9. Between the Bill`s and the Saber`s, who are you going to pay a ticket for?

  10. They haven't won a playoff series in 16 years! They haven't even made the playoffs in 12. Over a decade of pitiful hockey is a lot to ask of any fanbase. The Sabres need to show they are worthy of something before they can expect fans to fill the seats…and they're not doing that so far.

  11. Being a Sabres fan is hard LOL! No playoffs for 12 years, they can't play defense and offense in the same game right now and they look totally out of sync this season. What's the point of spending the money on tickets and paying too much for a beer?

  12. Great entertaining game as a Habs fan. Still taking too many penalties. I believe the commentators said that we're currently the most penalized team in the NHL. That has to improve lol Facing the Devils will be a real test tomorrow.

  13. I live in Buffalo and went to the home opener. 2 seats in the 300 level cost us over $300. Between the outrageous ticket prices and the abysmal product on the ice to start the season, why would I bother going to the stadium in person? I can watch them lose for free on stream. The fans patience is done. Even if ithe team is "on the upside" (definitely not showing it to start this year) the playoff drought is 12 years deep and looking to be 13 already. No point in going to the game in person in my opinion, not until this team gets some fire under their ass

  14. Buffalo ownership is embarrassing. High ticket prices, outdated arena, and lousy teams…. We are so sick of losing

  15. I was surprised by all the empty seats too, especially for a rival Canadian opponent. I thought that building would’ve been filled.

  16. I love em but after attending the Opener vs. NYR I’ve got better s—t to do with my money until we become competitive—8th or bust…lets f—king go! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  17. My next game will be will probably end up being Connor Bedard in Buffalo…that kid is gonna be something else!

  18. Power looked lost tonight, it was Ridiculous to give Power a contract like that. They should have waited to late in the season to see how he would do. He could be a Tyler Myers, or a Mike Wilson – '95 – '99. The guy can't even check or hit anyone

  19. I'm shocked that shutting the world down over a cough and preventing people from doing their jobs would create a world where most people can't afford 100 bucks a head to go watch millionaires skate
