Brooooo, Seider is a MONSTER keeping the puck in the zone. It was an A+ part of his offensive game from his first season. Hell, his outstretched dive led directly to a PP goal against the Devils and it was like, inches from missing his stick, and he does stuff like that so often. Dude's a beast when it comes to sustaining pressure.
I think the kraken are a bad matchup for us, our thing this year is depth and that's what they excelled with last year
3 on 3 is cool. They need to fix the rule to prohibit continuing to back out of the offensive zone and playing keep away for 5 minutes. They also need to get rid of the shootout. Don’t need games decided by a random skills contest. Make the 3 on 3 10 minutes max and if no one scores both get 1 point. 4 on 4 is a total snooze fest.
Husso is a decent goalie but he’s not going to steal wins for you. He’s gonna keep you in games but he’s not going to win them for you plain and simple. He’ll make some great saves and let in some mediocre shots. He’s a great goalie for us rn and hopefully Cossa turns into a star for us to put us over the top down the line.
This 1st PP unit is just lethal and I thought this was a good comeback just to get a point. The Veleno line was very good too. But… I just cannot stand the Copp-Compher-Rasmussen line. They just step on the ice in a defense only mind. I'm sorry but that doesn't work at all in this league anymore. Playing them this much is crazy I'M sorry. Their metrics are atrocious. They never have the puck.
Maybe you can play them together against the Crosby line, MacDavid, Jack Hughes, but please stop playing them 20 minutes a game against a team like Seattle, it's not going to work out.
Lalonde has to figure out some way to balance his lines and get more puck possession from more than just two lines. They have enough depth to do this and be successful. It's just a matter of time (like saturday in Boston) before good teams will just just find a way to shut down the top line and spend all game with the puck playing against us. Not saying he should he break the top line but that CCR line is just painful to watch. Compher could center other players and still be responsible defensively.
Also, as much as I like Husso, I think Reimer should start the next game. He's been great so far.
But, hey, they did find a way to get a point out of this very bad game. I'll take it. They need to win the next game because I don't thin they have a chance in Boston on saturday.
Our 5 on 5 is a problem. We have plenty of time to fix it, and with the pp and pk being as good as they are, we are in pretty much the best position possible. I commented yesterday, let's get to 20 games in and see where we are. Ide be over the moon with 15 wins, but the reality is il take a +500 record.

I think they're going to struggle a little bit at the beginning of the season, especially against Better teams, 5v5 Still a new team and they're working on their Chemistry, but they will find it.
We can talk about the refs all we want. But the reality is, we got outplayed yet again 5 on 5, and our PP and Husso were bailing us out to keep us in the game.

I was watching last night and it felt like the wings were asleep. I swear the first 2 periods were spent on the back foot letting break aways happen.
Metrics will never beat the eye test. I could've told you within the first minute of the game they were going to have a hard time beating the kraken this game, and yet they should've won this game because 5 minutes of pressure from the wings talent is better than 10 minutes of pressure from most teams talent. Passes weren't crisp, shots missed the net, and larkin missed a breakaway, meanwhile the kracken get two softies from Husso, one that he should have froze off the back boards, another short side low above the circle in the rush. Did Husso make aome good saves, yea but the other goalie played better and thats the difference, even lalonde who rarely calls out goalies said he had to softies and he said before the game that husso cant do that if they want to win. I think lalonde is gonna put Lyons in soon and see where that goes. Cant have these up and down games from Husso now that they are a better team. You can blame the refs all you want, im not going there. Husso can not continuously let in 2 soft goals in a game and expect to win, just facts. Final note spronger had a bad game, missed the net too much, took a bad penalty, and seem too easily affected by playing his former team but im sure he'll be better.
Agree with some rule changes need to come about for 3 on 3, ragging the puck out of the zone is really defeating the purpose for making 3 on 3 exciting, credit to the kraken they played smarter in o.t. but its the same as the trap, boring and long periods of no shots and guys just ragging it back for line changes and looking for an ugly goal, once again credit to the kraken, they cracked the code, but really boring hockey nonetheless.

The only thing this team is missing right now is elite level goaltending. An elite goal tender wins this game. On a cup contending team, Husso is a backup net minder.
The 3 on 3 is a travesty to real hockey. The blatant missed call on throwing the lumber was a huge swing. Debrincat scores there and its 2-2, not 3-1. NHL officiating is criminal.
Bring back 5v5 OT and ties.
I still can't believe the ref missed the high stick on Sprong right in front of him. Clearly a double minor and no call. That ref shouldn't even be a linesman in this league. NHL needs to do better if they expect fans to pay these ticket prices to go and watch this garbage.

For the 5 on 5 play the passes werent as crisp as before. I hope we improve on the consistency of that. The no call was criminal on the stick throw. But im glad we got a point and put up a really strong surge against a team that was really good last year which says alot about where we are headed. Last year we lose that game 5 to 2. The fourcheck by kraken was heavy af and we all knew they were going to come out strong and aggressive. Lots more games to play.
