  1. Break up the lines 1and 4 and 2 and 3 or whatever combination because this looks really bad right now.

  2. Ur right about 2an5 being a hard hill to climb. DK. It's early so hopefully it starts to turn around

  3. Dk was dead wrong about Lars being a 20 goal guy and what we needed on the 3rd line. Really wonder why I listen to this guy. But that a easy fix for me 👋

  4. It goes back to what I said last week they have to play hard for 60 minutes and not 20 minutes Nedeljkovic played pretty solid till the 3 rd so it’s not goaltending

  5. Being hard to play against is getting harder and harder to watch. With all the experience and talent on the Pens, Sullivan might as well let the players choose their own lines, defensive pairings and style of play for the next six games and see what happens. Can't be worse than what's happening now. The team is not buying what Sully is selling. He should adapt or take his right way of playing approach – and Carter – and be shown exit stage left by Dubas.

  6. It’s obnoxious how often it seems like the pens play well enough to win, but they can’t score goals. I can’t lie and you can’t deny the fact too, the opposing teams goaltenders have played GREAT against us as well. Regardless of no screens lol, but still. You make some decent points as well.

  7. They just need to play the game right and become difficult to play against. If I can spout this as a casual fan, imagine how many times the players have heard it.

  8. I after watching and being a loyal fan for decades……..same problems same results. HO-HUM………………

  9. I like Sullivan but I'm getting a feeling that it his time to move on.

  10. This team is completely unable to drive to the net, screen the goalie, or elevate a puck. Another goalie that “had a great night” who barely had to move. This team looks completely lost, and I fear unless they change the coach and assistant coach (who is terrible in my opinion), I don’t think anything will change

  11. This season I’ve been seeing the top two lines just don’t have the speed or finesse to beat anyone. The PP which for this team needs to click at 80%, passes too much and never makes the goalie work. Each of these lines would benefit from a young 20-23 year olds legs and energy.

  12. The second half of that game they were just lifeless, like they just gave up after that hit.

I do kinda agree with the question though, I could see trading Guentzel to get some physicality but who knows.

  13. They could use a few dirty goals for sure but man theres a lot of those chances when the guy in the slot gets a pass and wheels it over the net or right at the goalies chest. They get good looks that turn into easy saves or a missed shot. They were in this game and dominated the first then the air went out and it was all over.

They seem like they carry this enormous weight of expectation that as soon as the momentum shifts in the other teams direction they defeat themselves. They need a coach (old or new) or a player (same deal) that can light a fire under these guys

  14. Like most said, the first period was great, post Ludvig hit the team started to disassemble their structure. Optimistically, the team showed they have it in them for 20 out of the 60 minutes. But, in reality, I said the other day more net presence, more tic tac toe passes, rebound shots like Sheary would sit in his spot for Crosby. Go back to the 2017 play style & please stop shooting it into the glove hand!!

  15. Among all the other obvious lackings this team has, The PP is just so sad. The worst example of just how flawed it is is when they had the 4 on 3 for about 40 seconds. They set up a big perfect square and just passed the puck around. The players down low stayed off to the sides of the net by about 15 feet and the PK literally had to do nothing but watch the Penguins play keep away. Even at 5 on 4, they only timidly go to the far edges of the crease and never in front, as to not possibly make it difficult for the goalie to see the shot that will be hitting him right in the chest at some point, Heaven forbid they do that. Wouldn't be gentlemanly of them. "Soff "is not even a good enough word to do this team justice. I'd like to hear Therrien say Pillowy and Marshmallow in his funny French-English.

  16. 2 and 4, show them the door. Who knew the Penguins would be pulling out plays from Kevin Stevens' 1993 highlight reel to make a statement this early in the season. What…too soon? If this team is below .500 and trending nowhere good come mid-November, Sullivan is gone. If he isn't, then Dubas was the wrong hire for GM. Can he replace himself?

  17. The hardest thing to swallow is every answer Sully gives he says they need to do the "simple" things. Net front presence, shots on goal, pucks deep, etc. and they still don't!! It's never been about talent, it's either coaching or scheme at this point

  18. They. Can’t. Finish. When an offensive minded team can’t score, hate to state the obvious, that’s BAD. And when they finally put someone with toughness in the lineup, he takes himself out. That was just bad luck. But the scoring is a problem. Ottenger is great but we have 3 guys that put up over a point a game last year and another that came real close. We should expect better and they neeed to do better. I’m not sticking a fork in them yet but I’m certainly poking at them. This doesn’t look good.
