    good for him.

Given the track he was on once he was traded from Vancouver (and while he was here) that’s 8 more then we expected.

    Happy he turned it around.

Why the fuck would he already retire?

He’s getting 1st line minutes with the Sedins???

    Congrats to him.

I still have his jersey. Please don’t ask me why I spent $200 on his jersey.

Who would’ve thought that he would have twice as long of a playing career as Cody Hodgson when we made that trade…

Carved out a solid career for himself all things considered. Good for him.

Would have been awesome if Kassian made it here in Vancouver. We traded Hodgson for him to play with the Sedins, but I think coaching was trying to force him into the tough guy mold while still putting up 60+ points as a RW. It was a tough expectation that was never going to materialize. At least he found a home with the Oilers for a bit as a middle six guy.

Good for him for turning his life around and getting a 12-year NHL career out of it. I wish him all the best with his next step.

This guy was flooding with talent but coaching shoehorned him into some bullshit role on every team

Have a good retirement Kass, it was good to see him find a home in Edmonton.

I remember his trade. I was thinking about buying my first Canucks jersey at the time and it was going to be a Hodgson jersey (Hodgson, having been promising and instrumental in the Canucks winning the memorable 2012 mid-season game in Boston- the one where the rat torpedoed Sami Salo). I had high hopes for Kassian because he was billed as bigger and a good skater. He never quite excelled but I’m glad about the trade, I later read Gillis was actively trying shopping Hodgson for a while (I think due to his dad complaining or negotiating a lot?) and his playtime was increased with the hope of pumping up his numbers.

Im glad that he got less dirty and more skilled as time went on. Figured it out.
