That hit set up the blues to win the game but lose the series. In their prime, Backes was maybe the only center in the NHL that could shut down Kane and Toews. Blues take a 2-0 series lead but without Backes, Kane and Toews basically won the next 4 games on their own.
The next time they met in 2016, Blues ended the dynasty.
