Our North American prospects are fucking bad and belong back in Iowa forever. Jesus Christ.

  2. KaprizFox

Experience Wild hockey baby! Losing 6-2 to a rebuilding team! Wooooooo!!!

  3. BuckyCop

Everyone was terrible tonight from the GM on down.

I expect Jujar to never come back from Iowa.

All around trash, and I expect this to continue

  4. getoutofthewayref

Do you think LH is trying to look like she has a hockey helmet on with her hair?

  5. cisforcookie2112

Well that was fun…for the two minutes it was 3-2.

  6. omahawizard

I think the comment that best describes tonight was the [removed] one

  7. cothomps

Flipping over to college hockey isn’t better.

  8. londonsillynannies

Half to three steps behind on everything. Hopefully just early season sloppiness

  9. Backblast

Buckle up friends!! It’s gonna be like this until the end of next season, and then MAYBE we can rebuild.

  10. Dr__Bloodmoney

Shit effort tonight but- team was also 3-3-1 to start the year last year and bleeding goals. They will figure it out

  11. expungant

    Good old-fashioned stinker.

    On to the next one

  12. chummyspoof

one of the worst performances in recent memory :/

    defense is awful

    offense is also awful

i’m just trying to keep in mind that we were icing a team 32 million dollars under the cap tonight. could be in for a long season

    edit: mermis > merrill

  13. diamante519

Philly was the last team I wanted a loss against

  14. Radagastdl

Well Brock Faber looked really good again!

Mermis, Rossi, Foligno, and Johansson finished the night at +1 somehow

  15. EvilBeat

Honestly that was one of the worst Wild games in recent memory. I don’t have much of an expectation or anything for this season but goddamn, it’s more than that.

  16. JamesBlonde21

I think it’s time to take away Kap’s safety blanket. Force him to drive the net instead of trying ridiculously impossible cross ice passes through the entirety of both teams

  17. stumpybubba-

I honestly hope we don’t make playoffs. Fuck me it’s gonna be a long season.

  18. Dry_Macaroon6775

Pros: had a few moments where a comeback felt possible. Mermis, Faber with some solid plays all night.

Cons: the rest of the defense, wild non existent until the third period, our top line being useless and coughing up goals left and right , My boy Gus looked shaken

  19. jordynbebus8

god we need Boldy back… his defensive game is missed and offensive too of course

  20. Panarin10

That was pretty cool when they scored those 2 goals in the beginning of the 3rd.

Wish Gus had made that save on that breakaway.

I just really hope we don’t pick between 11th and 16th in the upcoming draft.

  21. twiggz612

Like I said earlier if we’re going to be bad then lets be really bad. Ill watch regardless.

  22. HerbalAndy

I don’t know what happened after the 3rd goal cause I turned it off..

But what I did see what just complete shit.. what was it like 5 shots through almost 2 periods of hockey? And almost all of those shots came on the power play we got in the beginning of the 1st?

Jesus, that wasn’t bad.. it skipped bad and went all the way to unwatchable from the second the puck dropped. I can’t think of a single positive except for Gus was making some good saves before I turned it off.

One thing they said on Wild on 7th is wait for at least 10 games before you make any sort of judgement and get all pissed off.. and I agree with this take.. 10 games is a good sample size to get a feel of how this team is going to play this year.. we’re 7 games in we’re 3-3-1 and honestly isn’t that exactly where you’d think we’d be? Cause I do. Everyone chill out.. let’s beat up on Washington tomorrow and forget about this gongshow

  23. spinorama29part2

Welp onto the i love both teams game.

  24. JustaRoosterJunkie

Going to be a bumpy season at this pace! On the bonus side, we may be set for a record breaking season (just records we really don’t want to break).

  25. Paladad

    That sucked.

To put it in perspective, though, this is *not* the Minnesota Wild anyone intended to ice at the start of the season. 4 injured players, 2 on LTIR. We’re icing a team *under* the cap floor. The lines have been constantly shuffled and no one, except the top line, have had consistent linemates. The best prospects we have are either injured, playing in Europe, or both.

The Wild are stuck between a rock and a hard place and this game reflected that. I’m not ready to call the team a bust, but I’m really really not looking forward to the next few games.

  26. JeezyThaSnowmann

Have got to stop all this forcing passes bullshit and shoot the damn puck. Too many times guys are trying to thread a pass through 3 people.

  27. ralexh11

At least Rossi and Faber still look good

  28. _BeerAndCheese_

None of the players out there could make a pass. Nobody could even handle the puck enough to break out of the zone cleanly. I’d bet half of our exits were either airlifting the puck or just desperate banging up the boards.

We got beat at one point by a Belpedio, a cast-off from our org, who was on the ice for THREE AND A HALF MINUTES. One of their players couldn’t even skate off the ice when the play was over. And all our guys could do was blast long distance slappers into shinpads.

This isn’t scheme, this is players not being able to execute very basic things. This is a team that has one (1) high-end talent, and two (2) legitimate top 6 players playing on it right now. A team who’s best D-man, by FAR, is a 21 year old rookie. A team that is, with injuries, tens of millions in the whole. A team that SHOULD have been focusing on collecting picks the last couple of years. Instead we traded them away for washed goalies and goons because they were fwiends with our GM.

I honestly am not upset about how things have been thus far. That shoe had to drop at some point, and I’m surprised it took this long. What I’m upset is the path we chose to get to this result of all things. We could have arrived here with a good amount of potential blue-chip prospects from what is supposed to be a couple of amazing drafts. But no.
