Wins and losses aside, this is the most I’ve liked a Flyers team since that 19-20 team so far. First time in awhile that it seems like everyone is genuinely on board and that true team comradery is developing.
Also, Brink and Sanheim have been very, very bright spots so far this season. Like, « if they keep this up it may change some of our ideas about our future plans for the rebuild » levels of bright

Lil Bobby Big Balls has been the biggest surprise this season, the Farabee – Cates – Brink line is only going to get stronger the more they play together. Farabee and Brink have enough chemistry offensively that Cates doesnt need to be a big point producer, but I still think Frost between our best natural left wing and best natural playmaker not named coots would be an absolute threat together.
I love that management has kept as much of the core together as possible, Ive been watching these guys since the second they were drafted and in some cases even earlier so I’m invested in seeing these guys win, not some random dudes wearing the sweater losing on purpose and cheapening it.
That 4th line still gets exposed at times, but teams also play the Flyers different when we’re winning on the scoreboard, we bring out the best and the worst in teams and we just don’t have guys for that kind of pressure late in games in the system. We don’t have prospects built like Hathaway and Poehling. Theres always going to be shifts where we get outplayed but at least this 4th line doesnt get out worked or out muscled and thats important.
These first 7 games have a lot of positive things to build off, but I hope Danny is really looking at how we can make the 4th line more dangerous. I love Deslauriers but he doesnt have to be in the lineup every night, lets see Lycksell there. He’s just being forgotten down in Lehigh, tell him to do everything Poehling does and instead of going to the corners just wait at the net front, thats all that line needs is someone with an open stick around the front of the net and thats what Lappy has him doing down there

Brink, TK, Farabee, Coots, Atkinson, Sanheim, and Hart are all having 🔥 seasons. What’s different about this new core is that we didn’t go out of our way to sell prospects/picks for them. They’re mostly homegrown!

Love to see this! Seems like we have good energy in the room again.

For how much the fans hated not coming away with Cole Caufield in that 2019 draft, York and Brink is an absolute haul. Both players looking locked in as core pieces. And Brinker is just scratching the surface. He could end up being our main PP facilitator for our Russian rocket once he comes over.
