Small sample size. And some good goalies down near the bottom. But I think this aligns with the eye test so far. Not ideal

Right, but Helly and Shesty is right there near by. Our D so far has been sucking ass really hard

Casey DeSmith could be a potential target if Schmid isn’t doing well. Vitek has had at least good games this season (Detroit and Montreal) but Schmid has really struggled and his lateral movement seems slow. Maybe there is a non-Quinn defenseman Vancouver can send as well.

I’m not holding the Caps game against Vitek.

    Trade them both. They’re tragic.

While the goaltending could be better, it seems that we have larger issues on defense, the PK (seems to be improving so far) and we have been very average at 5v5 in most metrics.

After 2-3 seasons ago I still find it hard to get that upset about our goaltending. I think Vanecek should still be reasonably solid during the regular season and that’s really all I expect. Schmid is young, goalie development takes a long time and is hard to project, hard to say how he’ll pan out in the longer term. I’m willing to be patient with him.

Also Imma be honest, I’m a little surprised how well Quick seems to be doing so far. But sample size is still small, we’ll see how things progress.

I also wouldn’t mind someone like Vejmelka, he’s been pretty pretty consistent in terms of having nice numbers even when the Coyotes team he’s behind has been hot garbage. Because let’s face it if you can still post average numbers behind some of those Coyotes rosters than you have to be at least above average at what you do.
