@Ligue nationale de hockey

McDavid est absent pour deux matchs et c’est ce que nous faisons ?

Non, vous ne pouvez pas prétendre qu’il est le meilleur au monde.

It’s NHL propaganda to try to show off more stars

  2. Enough-Competition21

This guy might actually be a winner tho

  3. Voltage604

    McDavid isn’t even top 20 in points… He’s obviously washed up. /s

  4. esp211

I hate the Devils but he is up there for sure.

  5. RailroadingFreedom

His brother in Vancouver is better. East coast bias

  6. Brodieboyy

He has been the best in the world for 2 weeks of hockey you can’t deny it lol. He also showed flashes last year, I think he outscored mcdavid for 2 months towards the end of the year. Currently mcdavid is still number 1 obviously but I could see jack challenging for a couple of harts in the coming years, he’s young and yet to hit his prime

Matthews, Drai, Ullmark, Makar, Fox, Shesterkin, Heiskanen, hell even Thompson you could make a compelling argument for

Penguins fan here, going to have to get used to the hilarity of it, anyone and everyone will be the new IT guy for their moment of fame. Sid had Ovi, Giroux, Toews, even sometimes a player like Doughry would get thrown in as the « new best player in the world » when clearly it was still Sid.

That said, it will be interesting to see McDavid now that he’s legit on the cusp and heading to the other side of the typical prime of a player and other stars like Hughes are coming into their own, can he continue his dominance?

On pace for 232 points… hand him the crown

  10. turbulentcounselor

You can say this if you’re only counting this season lol. Otherwise no

  11. Pristine-Spread-1785

Anyone who says McDavid is not the best player in the world is an idiot. I cannot understand this take.

  12. BlackFalconEscalator

    Yeah. He is dang good

    🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

    well, Oilers fans?

  15. mattcojo2

    He’s playing against him tonight.

So yeah, makes sense. And I can’t say the compliments are undeserved.

  16. kroxti

Impossible. ESPN told me that was Bedard.

  17. Hot_Major8602

the refs sure like him but he’s a little overrated

  18. H8ersAlwaysH8

I think he’s talking at this point in time. Hughes peak is higher than McDavids dip. I think you are reading too much into this.

  19. CaptainJudge_99

He’s the best player in the galaxy

  20. Mofo34

I think Don is factoring in the fact that McDavid isn’t playing right now so technically Hughes is the best. He’s not saying Hughes is better than McDavid. Y’all reading too much into it.

  21. SnooOpinions8755

He definitely is not. If he keeps getting better like he has been in a few years you might be able to make this argument. Top 10? Sure.

  22. SirLunatik

He’s talking about at this moment in time and currently Hughes is averaging nearly 3 points per game, no one else is even averaging 2. I think it is currently a fair statement.

That said, I am a believer that the because of ups, downs and injuries, the best player in the world will change several times over the season.

  23. a-manofmany-names

He has been the best player this season. I don’t see why that’s so hard for people to accept lol

  24. Roguemutantbrain

He’s obviously referring to like right now. Like right right now. You guys are dumb if you think he’s talking about this era

  25. JerbearCuddles

Pretty sure it was Gretzky that said if anyone can catch McDavid, it’s Jack Hughes. I believe him. Jack’s a stud.

  26. dcd1130

He’s just as fun to watch do his thing. Let’s hope it’s another star who can do great things making this league more enjoyable watch night after night. The comments here are so dumb and juvenile.

McDavid is great, Matthews is great, Makar is great, MacKinnon is great, Hughes is great too.

If Hughes stays healthy and produces night after night the points will come and it could be enough to put him in contention to take home a Hart Trophy this season. Long season, they’ll be slumps and bumps but the way he drives play he should touch 120 points.

  27. mattnj1995

A guy isn’t allowed to have an opinion? Bunch of babies on here, Jesus Christ.

  28. Pattypumpkin

He not even the best hughes right now.

  29. spagboltoast

Hughes is the current easiest number 6 in the league. Mcdavid is 1 then 2 through 5 flashes between drai matthews mac and makar on any given week. After this year hughes may have the resume to knock someone out of the top 5.
