  1. Thanks Deeksie! Youre bang on RE Suzy. Somethings not looking right. And if only Cole could start hitting the net. 🤌🏻

  2. I thought Cayden Primeau played great.

    — 2 Goals against on the PP. (Not his fault, stop taking penalties boys … especially when the refs call almost everything right now)

    — 1 Goal against as the PP ended (Once again, not his fault. Stop taking penalties.)

    — 1 Goal even-strength on Toffoli finding open ice. You could blame him for this one, but we all know Toffoli has a wicked shot.

    A good learning game. I think it would have been the same outcome (or worse) if Allen or Montembeault was in net. I'm on team Primeau.

    Good content as always, Drew!

  3. I'm a devil fan! I don't come to gloat on other teams chats!! I come to hear to your point of view of your team! I like you point of view on your team. You could be right! I don't follow Montreal enough to say anything!! So I come here!! Devils are a good team this year but the Canadians hung with us for a period. That 2nd Canadian goal on the PP was awesome!! I agree!! Hope this helps your ALGO!!

  4. Disappointing result. Primeau did not look bad but he got no help from the D. I swear the refs give us penalties for the hell of it. Garry Gally is a terrible commentator for HABS games.

  5. One lesson for management is that size matters. Caufield and Suzuki doing OK at holding their own, but it seemd like they, Evans, Newhook and maybe some others just didn't have the size to power through. Marty looked like he didn't have home ice advantage to get them favoraable match ups – not sure his coaching was up to Lindy Ruff's. Even Anderson had trouble against a team with more talent and more size. The rebuild continues. I hope Primeau feels good about last night because he was good… first game of the season but not must 'rust' on him; he even channelled The Gump and Rogie Vachon with the diving save. Management should pay attention as well to what some time in Laval did for Barron… loving his play. Maybe one or two others should get some seasoning there… he showed it can't hurt!

  6. Two games in two nights. It showed last night. New Jersey is difficult to play against; the devils kept breaking up the Habs'plays…

  7. Gread vid mon ami.
    About Suzuki, he used to the ONE player that we didn't have to worry about. He's basically the only top player who didn't get injured last year, so that's a big factor, he stays healthy (and knock on wood that it will stay that way). But the other things were year after year of consistency and improvement.

    So what's going on?
    – It can't just be a linemate issue, because his individual players aren't where they are supposed to be (not saying it doesn't have an impact, but can't be the only issue here);

    Is he playing injured? If so the team learned nothing form last year and so I can't believe it's the issue (maybe he's nurturing something, but like the previous hypothesis, it cannot be the only issue, since he would not be in the lineup PERIOD if it was it;

    – Is it something more insidious/invisible, like a personal life issue and/or psychological? Maybe… But we know him, AND he is our captain. I feel he would be transparent about at least some stuff if it was such a huge factor (no? Maybe I'm wrong. Also, he can say XYZ if his coach and/or GM told him to stay quiet, so IDK. I don't really like to go any further on such a subject personally, having lived through several burnouts and also horrible work hygiene + unfair prejudice and hostile work environment (most attorneys are freaking sociopaths, no joke, so unless it's friends, I now stay FAR away from my "esteemed" colleague. Hope for Nick that whatever it is, he's being surrounded by decent people who respect him as a person.

    – Could it be that MSL is starting to micro manage and Suzuki is losing himself within a new system? That one you might be able to reply Drew (and not before you meet MSL each time you open your front door LOL :P) But as someone who has been THERE, someone who see what system teams tend to use, do you see a big change in, IDK, how MSL started deploying his lines within the first few games (5 games now? And you've been present at 2 or even 3 right?) I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
    And you know what, instead of replying to a nobody like myself, if you happen to have the time, why not quickly releasing a video about Suzuki's struggles. You can establish the facts, timeline, compare to last year, all his relevant stats, etc. And from there, maybe you might be able to give an educated guess of what might be going on, what will happen short term, etc etc, Would be a great subject, and most Habs fans on Youtube, subs of yours or not, they will 100% watch such a vid, no question (unless it's done be someone else between now and then.

    Either way thank you so much for the content. You make me smile 🙂

  8. Good game habs might make playoffs if they compete hard they just need more from Suzuki and caufield

  9. Suzuki has not looked good yet this season. He has had a few moments of good play but overall, not great at all. I'm not sure it's a just a Suzuki injury or problem. I think it's partly the fact that the guy on his right has not done well either be it RHP or Anderson.

  10. I agree with all of DD's assessment of the game and his player comments. These games versus high caliber opponents show the weaknesses that this Habs team needs to improve on to take that next step. The Habs 5-on-5 play has been pretty solid in my view, but the giveaways, indiscipline, and lack of cohesive focused play has hurt Mtl. Now I believe most fans like the more free flowing, less structure, more use your individual skills&hockey IQ attitude St.Louis brings in his coaching…but then I look at a team like Boston who relies heavily on solid structure and defensive play and yet they can lose key players but continually remains competitive because they do not stray from that structure. This is what fascinates me with any sports team and the building/coaching philosophy of each organization…so many factors to deal with but the goal is to build a champion. The season is still super early so remaining patient. But I will begin to get antsy as we get to 20-25games in. Keep the faith…Go Habs Go!

  11. Toffoli for Heineman and Mesar. I said it at the time, I've said it ever since, but after last night's game I'll say it again:

    Great "rebuild move" HUGO…if the team you're trying to rebuild is the Rocket!!! 🙄 Good for Toffoli to single-handedly outscore the entire Habs team.
