  1. Good for Ryan O'Reilly – Glad he can go out and not be bothered by fans… especially when he gets pissed drunk and crashes his new truck into Donut shops and then flee the crime scene. No wonder he didn't like the microscope in Toronto.

I was one of the few fans who didn't like the Leafs trading for that idiot. Good player, sure – but another trade where we threw away good picks for nothing.

  2. It’s a challenging task to manage hypermobile NHL goalies. While their exceptional joint flexibility enhances their agility, it also elevates the risk of hyperextension injuries.

Compensatory behaviors can unfortunately lead to chronic overuse injuries, and their reduced joint stability affects their precision. Throughout the grueling NHL season, the accumulating physical stress puts them at even greater risk. They need personalized training and vigilant monitoring to perform at their best and reduce the odds of injuries.

Thats why you might see more of an even split than save percentages and level of play might recommend.

The only way for a goalie to maintain their elite save % is for them to maintain their health.

And a hyper flexible goalie, like Woll, who needs strength in order to keep their flexibility in control is particularly primed for injuries whilst also being uniquely gifted for the goalie position.

  3. That word identity hasn't been brought up in a while. But it's an identity issue this team has. When you have to mention the leafs did a good job limiting the other team. While the other team kept it even every time the leafs took a lead.

This team has no identity. Every other cup winning caliber team, they can dictate games. Leafs don't seem to intimidate other teams. Not just physicality. Just a mess in general. Top teams have 4+ serious dmen. Leafs …?

  4. Ps I had to laugh when it was said that O'Reilly should enjoy losing for four years. What has Toronto done since 1967?

  5. Leafs FO asssements to Samsonov was right on, and he need to prove himself year after year. Any goalie that give confidence to the players and the team will be starter, as simple as that. Right now, it's Woll.

  6. Both Preds PP goals were bogus penalties. Preds player initiates violence creating a scrum for no apparent reason and the only penalty is for the Leafs? That is the only possible way that that scenario cannot possibly be called. You can call no penalty, penalty on Preds or multiple penalties but you cannot possibly objectively call Leafs for the only one.
I can understand the mistaken tripping call on Jarnkrok but he didn't trip the guy. It's a puck scrum that Jarnkrok has his stick involved with. He doesn't put his stick in the players feet, but the player puts his feet into the scrum and steps on his stick. Understandable call but incorrect call.
Best game Leafs have played this season in my opinion. They deserved a better outcome.

  7. Everything coming from JD butkis is bullshit. It's like he doesn't watch the game. Or has no idea what he is talking about. The fact this guy makes money doing this is sickening. I can't believe Ryan Reeves wasn't at the forefront of the conversation.

  8. Longest road trip of the season and the leafs looked tired. Having to play two games in a row with 5 defencemen certainly didn't help either. I thought Samsonov definitely looked shaky in the 1st as well but he was good enough for the leafs to win. Leafs need to score more than 2 against the preds though. Overall, 3-1-1 is decent.

  9. I really really really really really don’t want to pile in on Sammy..especially after he actually had a ‘decent’ game tonight but..he has to save that OT winner man 😞 he was staring him down unimpeded by at least 10 feet

  10. Im getting Ace Ventura vibes from my boy Sam Mckee today…. love the pod boys!!
