Think of the ramifications of having a professional athlete bankrolling a betting account for multiple people. If I lose my account Max I'm missing a rent payment if Pinto loses his account Max he's out like 1% of his salary 🤷♂️. You can see how this can go bad quickly for him or the gambling entity.

As many commenters below have pointed out, there must be more to the Pinto situation. You don't get a 41 game suspension for letting someone else use your gambling account, and this was clearly a settlement that was agreed upon with NDAs and a promise not to appeal. I'd bet (pun intended :D) either he or the person on his account was betting on NHL games.

Why not make the intro 5 minutes longer, a bit louder with more random sound effects?
I know it sounds harsh, but I wasn't so sure about Ken at the beginning of his segment. Sounded like he was just gonna be an old geezer initially, but within minutes, he had me entirely captivated. Ken is an amazing storyteller and was so wholesome on the podcast. I'm only a proxy Panthers hockey fan and love your show and LFR, but now I'm definitely going to listen to this portion again tomorrow so I can look into buying his book. Fantastic guest, you guys!

I'm sure that we don't know everything about the Pinto situation. But the comparison to illegal checks to the head is valid. It is a clear statement that player safety takes a backseat to money from sponsors and brand reputation.
