I watched this game as a bruins fan it was a stunner.the flyerswere good but against those bruins no way we had Bobby orr but what we didn't know was Orrs knees were completely trashed .
That tripping or hooking penalty on O'Reilly was bullshit and they missed a complety obvious trip of Esposito by van imp #2 in the crease while espo was trying to get to the loose puck that was just sitting there waiting for him

As a 9 year old Bruins fan I so clearly remember this game. Once the game ended I went outside slamming the screen door behind me. Parents weren’t happy with me. 😂 Funny as now I love watching these games. I always liked goalies. And had Gilbert, Vachon and Bernie Parent posters in my room. This one hurt as it was the first of many Bs Finals losses. I didn’t start following hockey until 1973 so didn’t experience the Orr Cups. But I lived to see it in 2011. I can die a happy man. 😂.

bob clarke at times was kinda dirty. and he didnt have to be. orr had a good reason to be angry at clarke
so they took orr off of the ice on the o'reilly penalty….

The Orr penalty was not a penalty. A screw up by the officials.

What a lineup of stars in these two teams ,the kid from parry sound, Esposito , Kenny hodge , bobby Clarke, these are the players I can relate to being in my late teens n early 20s then
Phil Esposito said they could have played that game into July and still not scored on Parent.
