It was a great game on the part of the Sabres, for sure. To say they are unstoppable is both premature and just wrong. The Sabres are 4-5 and still last in their division. To say that the Avalanche are the best in the NHL is also just wrong. Take a look at the stats and you´ll see that the Vegas Golden Knights have the best record in the league!

Its Peterka's second year in the league so calling it a "breakout season" is way too premature. Mittlestadt or Skinner…possibly.

What was the most satisfying thing is that not only did the UPL and the rest of the team not fold in the 3rd period, but got the shutout as well. PK is the most improved part of the team.

UPL was tracking the puck well right off the bat. You could see it in the first 10 minutes.
I gotta say I was surprised by the lack of the crowd there. I know football was going on but it was a special event on a Sunday and it didn’t even look half full in the building, let alone sounded like a library in there for most of the first period. Made me sad.
The contrast between the black and red and the normal white jerseys is so stark. The white jerseys look so less threatening. And perhaps out of place. Which they are because it’s a jersey from a long time ago. It’s almost like there is something to this.
Man erik johnson was such a sleeper good pickup exactly what we needed last few years. he's a pillar back there. always in the lanes, smooth and simple game. makes big difference on PK with greenway added as well. easy to see. big apples to gmka on that
Peterka could be even better BUT the coach still is only playing him 12-13 minutes, a few games ago he played only 8 minutes. He needs more even icetime
