He probably misses his Tuna
Toffoli’s at 5.38 per game while playing 12:30 a game. Holtz is at 3.75 in 8:43 a game. If we scale Holtz ice time to 12:30 a game then he’d also be exactly at 5.38 per game. Definitely a guy who you should be playing on the 4th line…
I hate this. Mercer has such a clear love for the game and I really believe he can be one of the core members of the team going forward. We know he’s got the talent and skill, he’s just gotta find the net again.

It’s a slump, happens to everyone. I have total confidence in Mercer we know what he’s all about. 90% of the season left.
Watching him the last few games, he seems to try to find a pass even when he has a decent shot setup. Just let her rip dawgson
I have noticed his lack of shooting on my fantasy team
Maybe the influx of talent to the team has made him want to defer to others instead of creating the shot for himself. All I know is Mercer is a wicked player, and he’ll figure it out. This is not some sign of a downturn in his career, it’s a true slump that every single player goes through. This is a particularly rough one, and it’ll be all yje sweeter when he catches fire.
Only a few games in this season. He will get going and it won’t be an issue
He’s been streaky in the past, feel pretty good this will normalize over 40 games or so.
If anyone I want to have a slow start this season it’s absolutely great it’s Mercer. He’s a RFA next season so the Devils can probably get a good long-term deal, ala Jack before he really blew up.
But yeah I still want to see a happy Mercer score ha
Pointless in 8 games though when he scored 56 last season is pretty wild though. That said he is a +1, which ties for 3rd most on the team. Only 1 ahead of Bratt and Haula.
Its a good thing he is still a solid, valuable player everywhere else on the ice! Still the good ol relentless MercDawg we know and love, putting in work, winning board battles, smiling like a champ. He wasn’t even scoring a ton last year until the 2nd half of the year.
Can’t lose sight that he’s still a kid; last year was incredible, but sophomore slumps are a thing for a reason, the league adjusts to you and you have to adjust back, that sort of thing.
Unless there’s something catastrophically wrong, I’m feel confident saying he’s going to be fine.
