AGAIN will outscore your problems in the 82-game regular season and get exposed defensively in round 1. Then you will hang 2 average goalies out to dry and lose again. Freddie was better and so was Campbell. Do leaf fans not remember the last 5 years of choking? Same team on forward and worse on D and goaltending. How are you better and how are you getting out of the EAST with 7 of the top 10 teams in your conference?

Unless the Leafs change their system they will lose in the playoffs again. Their system is all wrong for the playoffs. Offense heavy teams do not go far! They are great in regular season but are quick outs in the playoffs. The only reason the Oilers made as far as they did was because they are in the West.
Gentlemen, don't get me wrong, I've been a Leafs fan for close to 45yrs now…not too many people have suffered with them season by season like I have. And I know how much it means to this city to get a winning team back in contention (we all miss the days when Sundin would lead this team to the 2nd round consistently)…. HOWEVER… to think the Leafs are a top Atlantic div. team is pretty off the mark. They don't have the consistent goaltending, they don't have the team toughness (in terms of digging in), and they don't have the team cohesion (it's hard to get the team together when the 'core 4 kids' are focused on other things outside of the team)…
Even if you disagree with the above, you can't mathematically say some teams (Ottawa, Montreal, Detroit) will win more games UNLESS other teams lose more games. So who's losing more games if 3 teams in the division are improving? I'd say Florida & Toronto are on the hook for more losses this season which sucks, but the truth is someone has to lose for someone else to win.
Matthews and Marner are household names. Now look at some of the names recently engraved on the Stanley Cup – names you've never heard of. What do some GM'S know that Dubas and Shanahan don't ? All I'm saying is it's nice to have highly skilled and exciting offensive stars, but that's only half the battle when going after a cup

MacKinnon should be #1 on best value contracts 6.3 for arguably 2nd or 3rd best centre in the league I thought kadri might be there too 4.5 before singing with Calgary 82 points and Crosby should probably be there too 8.7 shoudve signed for way more than that but he did that to have a better team
