Goddammit. Cale is obviously hurt. Hopefully just a little sore and they are being careful.
One of the most dangerous plays in hockey and needs to be addressed as such. One of The best skaters in the league aren’t going to fall down in such a way unless he was pushed while in a vulnerable position. Just listen to Towes interview post game. Cale doesn’t toe pick if he’s not pushed off balance.
Regardless of intent or not I would like Okposo to answer in the same way Eberle did. Nothing dirty, just a good ol fight.
Pardon my rant but I’m still pissed about it since it was such a shitty play/hit and now Cale is hurt. It should be policed like headshots.
Anyone that watched in the early 00/90s remembers dudes getting blown up from getting slammed into the boards chasing after pucks to prevent an icing. So, yeah hybrid icing is a good start, but they need to be suspending anyone that does that deliberately boards someone or knocks them off balance in such a way.
Stoked about Tufte coming up, he’s been lighting it up.
Makar returned to the game in Buffalo, so if he’s out, I’d imagine nothing is broken. Probably just preventative maintenance – still got 70+ games left.

I’m not reading too much into the Caleb Jones call up, in terms of Makar’s health. We only had 6 D on the roster and the Eagles don’t play until this weekend. Why not have him drive down and join the team for some practice at the least.
Anticipate Cale scratch from practice today and ‘Lower body injury ‘ announcement 😭. Knees aren’t meant to bend like that and would take a few days to for any inflammation to die down before they could get a clean looks at it on MRI. I wish they would’ve just made him sit for the end of that shitshow on Sunday …
Welp… both Makar AND Byram are missing practice. But they only called up one defenseman… so far at any rate.

Read an article today that stated that Bednar said either Makar or Byram wouldn’t play tomorrow. It was on my work computer so I don’t have the link (maybe Pro Hockey Rumors?). It was kinda poorly written, partially due to the lack of an actual quote and partially for the lack of actual info.
