No fuck that horseshit narrative. He showed miller what a mistake will cost and miller showed him what he does . Respect that it worked out but Tocchet really has this team working for each other .
Clearly Miller is an emotional guy but he honestly reminds me of a young Tocchet. Tocc knows what Miller needs and when. He knows JT is capable of more and it’s nice to see him holding him accountable.
This was great. JT made a mistake because he’s a passionate guy. Tocchet let him know that he wouldn’t stand for it and let him cool off. JT responded super well with drawing a penalty and getting a goal.
What else can you ask for from a coach other than maximizing a player’s talent and keeping them on track?
Tocchet seems to have his finger on the pulse of the team. This is refreshing to see again. Something we haven’t seen since AV.
What did Miller do?
Alright. Tocchet has really grown on me. I was salty about Bruce’s departure which made it hard for me to buy in to Tocchet. But getting control of one of our hotheads last season? All aboard the Tocchet rocket.
I’ve mostly thought this start has been a mirage. The top players literally have to do everything for us to win while the bottom half does little to nothing productive most games. I’ve had a hard time with Tocchet and his tough hockey bro thing he has going on. However, tonight he won me over and proved this team is different then any other team in the last decade. Miller would never have been benched like that by Green or Bruce. They’ve talked about accountability and getting rid of the country club atmosphere and this is proof they are serious. I don’t agree with how the team continues to focus on the micro versus the macro but Tocchet won me over by putting Miller in his place. I don’t like Miller and never will but hopefully he learns how to be an adult going forward.
