And of course it was a late game that I couldn’t watch, still happy to see that and against the best current team in the league. We might be a playoffs team but I am all in if we can get good effort and energy most games.

It was a total effort game and took just pure guts, no flashy skills. Imagine this same effort once all the kids grow up some more and mature. Really exciting future so let the boys cook some more

The way they played last night, particularly the third period. gives me so much hope. Shows they can play with anybody.

Go toe to toe with the champs and this team is still going to get much better.

    #Yes.

I actually went to bed (long day) at the end of the second and completely regretted it. I did notice Caufield was getting pushed around a lot. I think they tried to physically body/push him at all opportunities.

I watch end of 2nd and finished the game. Wow they played like champs. Ghule was extraordinary, Suzy has found his baring and no one in the team looked out of place.

Keep it up Habs, you might surprise a few Analysts

I said before the season started that we probably wouldn’t be a playoff team, but we’d be vastly improved from the tank years. Maybe now, people believe me…

Guhle – Barron is cooking. Barron HATES the preseason confirmed

Man, our defense core will be dominant for years!

    Guhle is a stud
Barron will have a breakout year
Xhekaj is Xhekaj! (Notice no one dares to play dirty when he is on the ice!)
Matheson : thank you Jeff Petry!

Hutson, Reinbacher and Mailloux are coming up!

Man I can’t wait for Hutson to show up!

Boys wanted to party in Vegas with the 2 day break ahead

  11. DDDenver

Hey side note any updates on Reinbacher?

I agree but I need someone new with suzi and cole im thinking we try Slaf up there but otherwise idk we really need a top tier RW to help our boys on that line..

I watched 95% of the game, and didn’t feel like we were dominant, played well though. Lots of shots from the outside. Our first goal was a fluke, and second goal was great zone time.

Our power play though, it’s telegraphed from here to tomorrow. Take away the seam pass and we have nothing to offer. Kind of frustrating to watch sometimes.

Relax guys Vegas lost on OT to the Hawks you don’t see them planning the parade

I feel like Coach Marty reacts to the season and adapts his coaching to fit the moment. He is definitely different from some other coaches, who repeat the same message over and over again, just at different volumes.

Give me the current core with 2-3 years more experience with Marty’s concepts, but with a fully developed Slaf, and then David, WaWa, and Bones in their sophomore NHL seasons. Subtract Armia, Savard, Wideman, Dvo, and Andy if there are any takers. That’s the recipe for a long contending window.

I can’t see our current goalies sustaining this pace, so to me that’s still the biggest long term question mark. Hopefully Fowler pans out, but I suspect we’ll need to sign/trade for someone a little further along in their development.

Rare occasion when the Habs outshot their opponents for a change!

  18. bananakin94

It was a complete effort. The puck seemed to follow them the entire third period and thats largely due to them being committed to the details.

Every team in the NHL is capable of competing with anybody. The difference between a good and a bad team is simply how often you can do it.

This team aint total dogshit but they have to learn through doing the right things instead of just doing the few things that work. Everyone likes to complain about the slingshot for our PP but thats pretty much a proven concept that works well for a couple of teams.

People dont understand how little time they get to practice everything before the season start, so imagine how little time they have during the season. Nothing is earned in a week, regardless of the professional league youre in. Everything is earned through tons of repetition, both in practice and in-game reps. This team is so young, PATIENCE brothers and sisters, we’ll get there.
