Here is how you keep Nylander. Sign him to a 1 year contract at 9 million. Then the following year (this could be done at the same time as the 1 year contract) sign him to Tavares' contract for 5 years. Tavares could be re-signed for 7 or 8 million for 1 to 2 years.

Why is everyone so obsessed with plus/-? Its a useless stats for judging a player individually. If you're on a good team you generally have a good +/-……bad team you've prob got a shitty +/-……its NOT a good stat to judge how a player is. I'm sure Holl has Made many of the same boneheaded mistakes he made here in TO with the Wings, But they're off to a hot start and winning games so Naturally his +/- is gonna be decent….+/- is a fucking stupid stat to judge a player off of it dosent tell you anything relevant.

Since i coined the summation myself about Woll being "big, and calm, and poised", and that he should henceforth be referred to as #TheWoll, and "Stopped by the Woll!!", and was plagerized by Jay the next day (thats ok, at least i know we are in agreement) i would like to add that, contrary to the opinions of others, he is not playing for a position with the Leafs. He is not in a competition with Samsonov. He is simply playing against himself – to do his best to control that space in front of the net. and that is the mind set anyone needs to be among the best at anything. Its not about ego or advancement. Its about applying all that one has to the task – nothing more and nothing less. No external pressure. And now he is free to stop pucks.
