[Spaulding] Jack Hughes vient de signer le fanion des Devils d’un garçon qui avait probablement entre 8 et 10 ans et il est allé courir vers sa mère, rayonnant de fierté et d’enthousiasme. Ce sont les petites choses. J’ai remarqué que Jack est toujours génial avec les jeunes fans.

Jack seems like a good guy. Makes him even more likeable
I was at the STH autograph event. Jack’s line took me over an hour to get through. He was businesslike but nice with everyone, but was noticeably different with the kids. The rule for the event was « no posed photos, » but Jack could not have cared less – every kid I saw ahead of me got waived back behind the table, he’d smile and talk to them, and was clearly enjoying it. From what I’ve heard, the event was scheduled to end at 1, and around 1:15 he still had around 75 people waiting in his line. A team staffer came up and told him he could leave if he wanted, and he refused to leave until everyone in line got through.
For all that he’s had somewhat of a diva reputation the past couple of years, he’s clearly matured and grown into the superstar face of the franchise role. So glad to see him owning it so perfectly.
I took my 8 year old son to the signing at Sports Minded (such an amazing store). My son can be a bit shy, and the second he saw Jack, he kind of just froze up. Jack noticed this instantly, put everything down, and focused on my son. He called him over and leans towards him to be more eye to eye. He then asks him, “Hey buddy, how are we doing today? Did you want to do me a favor and take a picture of us together? Come on back here!”
My kid burst out of his shell and ran around the table. The picture shows the pure joy in my son’s face.
Hockey players, for the most part, are the greatest people on earth.
I like Bill, but he’s very close to being extremely irritating to me. I can’t quite put my finger on it.
