    The Sens have had to give away so many picks to fix some of Pierre's mistake.. sort of fitting(and frustrating) we kinda give up a 1st in getting rid of Pierre as well

    Which new General Manager isn't going to want to Re-Build the organization to make it his own, and not Dorion's.

    Its still too early to say if Chychrun can last more then 68 games for just 1 season, forgetting about the future of Chychrun… the cost of the 1st round pick, and its game #8

    The new GM is going to be Steve Staios guys, he was a GM for Andlauer's OHL team Hamilton Bulldogs, he wants to be a GM in the NHL. There is no better place than Ottawa to start his career as a GM in the NHL, you're replacing a guy in Dorion who had his first stint as a GM here, there isn't much pressure.
    If DJ doesn't work out then Staios isn't going to be waiting for his contract to run out.

    That was a slimy move by the NHL and Gary Bettman not informing Michael of both the investigation into Dorian and Pinto before he bought the franchise. I’m with Andlauer on this.

    I believe Staios as GM was the plan all along. Just Dorion forced it to happen earlier than it was originally planned. They were probably gonna let Pierre finish the season, and make the replacement in the Summer. They probably didn’t wanna just immediately clean house.

    Notice my repeated use of the word, “probably.” I’m merely speculating.

    Edit: Chiarelli is the only other option I see them hiring. Ross and Pillzy keep talking about how it’ll be a guy with a connection. And Chia Pet is the only one that meets that criteria, at least in terms of anyone with NHL management experience.

    Honestly, Melnyk is partially to blame. Pierre did his job greatly understaffed, and was also allowed to run around doing whatever he wanted with no accountability. I give Dorion credit, and it must have been hard doing that job while wearing Eugene’s handcuffs. But at the end of the day. This was done either by Pierre himself, or at the very least, it occurred under his watch.

    Do we know if Dorion hid the no trade clause or, perhaps, did Vegas not do THEIR due diligence in reading the terms of the contract for which they were trading?

    Dorian under the circumstances did well. He tried to win a cup for both Murray and Melnyk. When that failed, he quickly pivoted to a rebuild. He had to overpay for Murray, White, Zaitsev when Ottawa was in purgatory and might not make the cap floor. Some trades like Stepan didn't work out. Others like Watson and Brown provided the leadership needed. His background in scouting and the very small team he had available did wonders for the organization. I keep wondering tho, if the departure of the Mann brothers is somehow related to the Dorion departure. I find it hard to believe that Andlauer didn't have any knowledge of the draft pick penalty or the Pinto situation. The timeline for both doesn't make sense. In the end, the owner, president, and GM are all as was written less than a year ago. Unfortunately, we still have the NHL/ Hockey Canada investigation to fall out. Regardless, yesterday was the last chance really for a reason to fire Dorion, that could be blamed on him. I hope some franchise picks him up soon and uses his eye for young talent. For the Sens, I hope the remainder of the year they show that they deserve all the faith that was shown to them in the past.

    Guys, I’m from Ottawa but live in St-Eustache…I’ve never seen a single Rangers jersey here since Timmy got drafted. Its brutal not having Shawarma Palace…😢
