You guys are ignoring the elephant in the room. No one stepped up for Liljegren. Why would they? Liljegren has never stepped up for anyone else. The Leafs used to have players who would step up. Rielly used to step up and fight. Marner wouldn't fight but he would get into scrums. Then they saw players like Matty and Lilli and Willy, well… "That isn't their game." So they stopped. And now no one steps up. "It isn't my game either." Why didn't Giordano jump in? Maybe he is starting to see that none of these guys would do it for him, so why should he do it for them.
Leafs players aren't defending in their own end. Keefe rewards players for camping on the blue line, waiting to blow the zone and ignoring their defensive assignments. If they coach is rewarding players for not defending, why would they defend?
The Leafs need a proper Dman. Yes, they have needed one for years. They probably need a couple at this stage. Will management finally do the right thing and trade Nylander to get one? Not holding my breath.
Bertuzzi, yea, he has been trash. If he doesn't start playing better he needs to be traded or waived or whatever. You just know wherever he goes he will be great again.

Tyler Bertuzzi never fit in with the spoiled brat buttery soft candy asses that the Leafs like so much. He also produces in the post season unless the Leaf hero Auston "choke artist" Matthews…who's 42nd in the league in post season point production since his rookie season. Nylander is like 54th. Maybe stop paying sissy dancers so much money? …or don't and pretend like 57% of the team's cap wasted on five core players is a winning strategy. It's not.
I really think they need a new coach. Keefe seems unable to settle on lines or motivate them to play well. Maybe it's early and there are a lot of new players.

Marner was better for sure. BUT seems like he's forcing low danger shots. He needs to get his head up and start passing to players in better shooting position.He's become a puck hog who constantly turns it over. Stuff you see at Squit/Mite level hockey.
