Hopefully just getting him some playing time which is great.

Still, I find Hunt being on the roster and getting time with the top line the most outrageous Flames roster move in seasons. Hopefully that ends.

Martin Pospisil has been called up.

  3. gilbertusalbaans

Getting him in a winning locker room will help

  4. Good. Playing him on the 4th line is a waste.

  5. Impressive-Tie-2540

Send kardi down. Keep him there

  6. getthatcoffee

Let him get top line minutes in the A and light it up. No point getting third/fourth line minutes on a team that isn’t going to contend any time soon

  7. Due_Performer_2314

I’m fine with this. Let him cook on the wranglers 1st line. Better for his development that he isn’t part of this shit show.

  8. backchecklund

If anyone thinks this is Huska punishing Matty, you’re wrong. [He explained it here quite well.](https://twitter.com/NHLFlames/status/1720180227060510775?t=ESephBM1voj73tGie9OOvQ&s=19)

I think it will be beneficial for him to take a breather from the NHL, it’s a huge change from NCAA schedule wise and the physicality and the speed of the game is like night and day. Just like you shouldn’t bury young players to the minors, you shouldn’t burn them out either

  9. Specialist-One-712

He needs to feel what winning feels like, this makes sense.

  10. Iphone4Lyfe

That’s goood, I feel like the NHL schedule was getting to him. Hasn’t looked as good as he did during preseason

  11. Hungry-Raisin-5328

Hope he takes 5-10 shots a game and gets some quality playing time. It must be frustrating for a young player who has scored at a high clip at every level to hit a drought. This will be good for him.

  12. FinkBass420

Good, let the kid go score 35-40 down there while the flames figure out what the fuck they’re doing

  13. Honestly coaching staff and possibly conroy making lots of moves i really like. Coronato looked good but he defs needs to spend a chunck of time in the AHL. Excited to see him back

  14. RedSh1r7

He can get 2 tune up games for the Wrangler’s over the weekend vs 1 game in Seattle (and probably 4th line minutes) for the Flames… Sounds like a good idea to me.

  15. yeastneast

Reminder that Coronato is the youngest between himself, Pelts, and Zary. *All* of them are still developing, and Coronato hasn’t had the benefit of the AHL yet like other prospects have. He’ll be fine, this is best for him in the long run.

  16. weschester

It’s nice to see that we have management and coaches that are committed to developing our young players properly. The Flames do actually have a bright future but that can only be realized if you develop your young talent well.

  17. I was thinking the other day this would be a good move.

  18. brokensword15

Maybe a hot take? But I don’t think he is ready yet. He has shown great upside but he gets lost with the puck quite a bit, probably not ready for the speed and physicality of NHL play yet.

He’ll be a full roster player soon enough

  19. Melodic_Sentence9544

Came from college hockey to NHL. This is totally fine guys.

  20. Wooden_Proposal_1615

3 goals for Pospisil tonight!! Anything is Postpisil.

  21. With out watching Huska’s explanation my hypothesis is this is for 3 reasons.

1 – something to do with contracts and waivers. I think if players play too many NHL games in a row or a season they are no longer exempt from clearing waivers.

2 – reduce the pressure on him, so he can focus on developing more, and enjoy winning.

3 – make room for other AHL players (Martin Popsil) to come get some NHL time in preparation for a rebuild or « pivot ».

  22. MonkeySailor

Fine, more reason to watch the Wranglers.

Seriously though, Coronato being sent down while Hunt stays up is ridiculous. Especially in an already « lost » season
