My Ballys didn't work (shocking, I know) until into the 2nd period, so I don't have much to add (shocking I know). The Wild really aren't too far off from where I thought they'd be after the 1st 10 games, I think I had them at 4-6 and they are currently 3-7. Tough month in front of them. The 8-2 Rangers 2morrow nite.
This might be the year we finally get to bring up some of the young guys. I wasn’t hot on signing those veterans because I thought they were a little long in the tooth. I think nature is going to take its course and force Guerin and Evason to bring up the youngsters. If you’re going to lose anyway why not unload the vets that are well past their prime. I got a bad feeling about Kaprisov but I won’t say it but I don’t think this is a one time thing and he disappears a lot in games over the last 2-3 years. He might not be happy here if I go by the hoops he made us jump through when we signed him to his second contract. I don’t feel good about this team period maybe two years from now. Cap hell is one reason for sure but it’s like they’re hung over from that playoff embarrassment against the Dallas Stars last year not to mention how embarrassing was that loss to the Blues 2 years ago. I thought they’d be in line to go deep in the playoffs in 25’ but damn if I got a chance to change that opinion I’d say 27’ or 28’.

Splitting up the boy band on the first line seemed to generate some spark. That KK97-Rossi-Boldy is our clear #1 line. MoJo-Ek-Lizard should be #2..or maybe Hartman there and move Ek to #3 and even up the playing time a little more.
But even then, scoring goals hasnt been the problem…its the terrible defense and special teams that are killing this club
It was nice to finally see some different line combinations last night although the end result was the same……
At 3-7, I would think that would continue unless Deano wants to be fired……..I thought Wild were getting a new special teams coach 2023? If yes, fire that guy. If no, fire whoever the special teams coach currently is.
Don’t look now but dare I say we just might have the beginnings of a youth movement? With the 1st line shuffle and 2 new young D I’d say yes. The Wild have quietly added more than 2 new young players each year under BG. Contrary to some of the front office rhetoric. If I was a young prospect I’d be fighting for a spot. Kudos to the decision makers not blocking the cool kids.
