@Canucks de Vancouver

« Ils ont été dominés dans la plupart de leurs matchs » ??!!??

The Score a publié aujourd’hui « 4 talents incroyables dominant la LNH » (J Hughes, Makar, Demko, McDavid) et je n’ai pas regardé les mêmes matchs que nous, je suppose…

All they need to do is check the top 10 league wide stat categories , they will see lots of Canucks dominanting those , yet they are blind to it 🤧

  2. letstrythatagainn

Demko’s been great, and it’s awesome to see – but how anyone can look at this team – at least WATCH the games – and not be amazed by what Huggy is doing is insane to me.

  3. Few-Garlic-9489

It’s honestly better imo if no one takes us seriously .

  4. Ok_Philosopher_2301

This person obviously hasn’t been watching the games.

  5. bdu754

Demmer’s been very much rock solid for us. However, it’s not like 21-22 where it felt like he was the only thing keeping us in games anymore

  6. xizrtilhh

Last night definitely would have been a blowout loss if Demko hadn’t stood on his head to keep the Canucks in it. /S

  7. The Canucks genuinely were outplayed 3 of the first 4 games. But since then, they’ve been way better at possession. But I wonder why those games stick out in the minds of the media, maybe it had something to do with the games actually being out East? Hm…

  8. Ruilin96

I am fine with mainstream media sleeping and underestimating us. Don’t want to paint a target to our back, just keep playing good sound structural hockey and keep rolling with the positive momentum!

  9. ubcthrowaway-01

Yeah the guy with 19 points in 10 games hasn’t done anything what a bum

  10. carry-on_replacement

They’re not wrong if they only watched up to two weeks ago. They’ve gotten a lot better at game management and 5-on-5 defence and the past few games have let fewer than 25 shots on net.

  11. Toiletboy4

Petey has been slapping the league with his cock and that’s what they wrote? Christ

  12. Vagus10

Only team I’m scared to play in the west is Vegas.

  13. cowfromjurassicpark

Literally not correct. Nas#1, STL, edm#1, & sjs were us dominating the other team. NYR was a 5 v 5 game where we controlled play but got fucked by 5 v 3s and FLA was a 40 minute game for us lol.

Only really 2 games where we got dominated and those were back to backs in game 1 and 2 of the season. Another 2 games where we got outplayed but still came close to winning or won. I still feel like these media people just aren’t watching us

  14. CaptainIndoCanadian

Demko’s been great.. but if that’s what they think.. wait till Demmer is REALLY in a rhythm. That Preds game could’ve been a shutout if he was REALLY in his groove.

We got outplayed by Edmonton game 2 and ppl dump on us for that but I genuinely believe the game plan was let them shoot from the outside and counter.. which worked beautifully. Edmonton couldn’t really generate shit

  15. RepulsiveHumanShell

That’s why we have the highest +- in the league. Surely.

I saw a job posting a few months ago for The Score. It was to join their writing team as a low-paid, uncredited staff writer. Essentially they were looking for people with entry-level content creation experience and some interest in sports to pump out a ton of « contributed » content.

So this kind of thing doesn’t surprise me at all. Some hungover 28-year-old copywriter did zero research and wrote a blurb about Demko based on his out-of-date assumptions about Vancouver. They may have been handed a list of 4 players by their editor and told to pump something out ASAP. It reeks of « I had a deadline so I typed a couple sentences and hit send ».

  17. biff_jordan

This is some hodge podge bullshit. Was this written by leafs media?

  18. Knight_On_Fire

More fuel to motivate the team.

  19. PaperMoonShine

We were outplayed in 4 and a half games. Philly, Tampa, Edmonton the second time. Predators the second time. And half of the Panthers game. Rest have been good games, albeit against poor teams minus the Rangers.

The author isn’t exactly wrong, it’s actually « just under half » rather than « most » of their games.

  20. FinePieceOfAss

Can’t believe Jeff Vinnick is still at it, he was my neighbour like 20 years ago, got some sick Canucks prints that are still hanging in my Dad’s office

  21. LifelikeStatue

McDavid? Really? I know he’s the current superstar and face of the league but 9 pts in 7 games and -2 is dominating?

  22. Iron_Seguin

In 10 games they’ve kept opponents to less than 30 shots 5 times. In the games where they didn’t, goaltending stepped up, in the games where they did the goalies had less to do.

I’m betting they’re trying to limit opportunities but the point is, of those opportunities, the high dangers ones aren’t happening as often.

So no, they haven’t been outplayed in most of the games, I’d say quite the opposite. But let them underestimate this team, it’s easier to be the zero fucks, zero expectations underdog.

  23. _CoconutsGo

3 players in the top 10 scoring. Ya. Probably being outplayed 😂.

  24. Alextryingforgrate

Van is scoring an average of 4.7 Goals per game with 1 shutout over 10 games. Tampa and the Rangers are the 2 highest scroing teams with 4 goals both teams bearing a win against Van. Im not saying Demko isnt a force, there are 4 Canucks players in the top 12 points slots. Also McDavid has been shit this year, so far.

  25. CaptainObviousCanuck

Let’s show them what we got on this upcoming eastern road trip, boys!!!

  26. Loafman15

Maybe shouldnt have won the 2nd Edmonton game

Maybe shouldnt have won the Florida game

Thats really it for games where I think we were outplayed and still won and honestly both those games were solid efforts that were still required to win

  27. dachshundie

I agree. Last night was a prime example of being outplayed big time. Score was not reflective whatsoever.

  28. Semprovictus

okay. let’s really take a second, and REALLY think about it.

the headline is surprisingly true, and ive thought this for a very long time, but if you take almost every single Norris, or selke nominated top 3, what do they all have in common? steller, reliable workhorse goaltending.

I think of like, doughty and Kopitar over the years. you had quick, when he was on, those 3 would fucking drag a team from last place in the league and win a cup. Hedman and vasi, fox and shesterkin, saaros and josi.

without goaltending, no one gives a fucking shit about how good you are, if your goalie can’t stop a puck, no one cares if you dominate every other tangible metric (Hughes and petey snubs last year).

demko is on. petey is unfucking real and Hughes is trying to prove he is better than jack while getting the c and trying to prove he deserves it…

I’ve already bet on those three getting the vezina selke and Norris, strap in and enjoy the ride because ky guess is two of them will get them if we make the playoffs. that’s the only other factor, is if we make the playoffs. and with everyone realizing that Calgary fundamentally fails as a team due to shit goaltending (Clarke made Markstrom, it was always evident because he was garbage when he had molunson, and aside from a classic markstrom hot streak with ACTUAL GOOD DEFENSE that resulted in a wild shutout streak more or less, he’s not been good there), edmonton also struggling to stay upright when their management don’t understand what being top heavy does to your centre of gravity, your star player has a slump or injury and you fall apart because you can’t outscore your shit goaltending and a defence worse than ours last year.

I’ve also always said that if Myers could just stop trying to be offensive and just focus on shutting people down (which he’s actually built to do if he just uses his fucking body and moves his feet) that I don’t care if we’re paying a 3rd pair D 6 million if he can do that simple job lol. just don’t be a defensive liability and he is fine, stop trying to produce points. and tochet and crew are really seems to be having a positive impact on Myers… we’re not far from being a contending team, we never have been, just needed time and the right drivers.

NOT TO MENTION, Miller quietly having another career year and is looking like a late blooming Ryan Kesler lite, he just really needs the right environment to flourish. needs demko.

now, why this is all relevant, is no one there is clearly watching our games, nor have they ever, otherwise they’d understand that he isn’t the only reason, but he is very much the biggest.

Hughes even said it last night in the interview, demko is their best and most important player. that’s probably what the reporter saw in a dialog box somewhere in an email of the recaps.

but the headline isn’t that far off.

I also don’t believe they need him to steal games, he’s just so positional perfect they know where he needs to be. demko is probably the most technically and hardest working goalie out there. I think that’s his strength is his work effort and commitment and never gives up. like, the man got robbed at gunpoint, spent the night with the cops and still played that evening.

  29. YouCanFucough

Fuck what the media thinks honestly. We’re 7-2-1, 5th in the league, and we have 46 goals in 10 goddamn games. We’re shredding teams to pieces.

  30. skeena1

What’s the source on this? Is it a legit outlet or some joker with an Instagram account?

  31. One-Diver-6597

We’ve been outplayed in about half our games. But we are showing improvement each week.

  32. Jugs-McBulge

You guys were clearly outplayed by the Sharks last night. Please try and be a little honest with yourselves

    /s

  33. sleep_san

im cool w/ continuing to be underrated, makes the wins that much better

  34. Dangerham_

Any article by The Score can be thrown directly in the waste bin. Their app is great, their writing, not so much.

  35. Fri3dric3

Clearly written by an eastener who can stay up past 10pm

  36. its_the_luge

I’ll never forget in 2010-2011 when TSN opened with “don’t look now but the VANCOUVER CANUCKS, Yes you heard that right, are running away with the presidents trophy”

At that point I was like.. “dude it’s been a wrap months ago lol”

  37. CuffMcGruff

We lead the league with 46 goals but yah ig we’ve been carried by our goalie…

  38. TheRealTollah

Three players in the top ten in scoring.

    Dip.
    Shit.
