Fingers crossed it’s nothing too serious for Jackie 🤞🤞

  2. ilovehenrique14

Delay of game I’ve never seen before and then an embellishment to offset an obvious trip. Refs weren’t the reason we lost but they were slanted as fuck tonight

  3. nostradamefrus

I stand by what I said about this not being our night and a loss in this game would be more respectable than some the earlier losses, but damn if it still doesn’t suck. Schmid played well. Really hope Jack is ok. We ain’t dead yet. Onto the next one

  4. SportsDude139

I gotta say, the refs fucking sucked

  5. Batfleck666

That Toffoli chance is going to give me nightmares tonight

  6. dabears7667

fuck the game, just tell me jack is ok

  7. falaris

Not our night. Pray Jack is OK and just move on.

  8. buddyguy618

We played fine without our top two centers. Let’s just pray they’re back soon 🙏🏻

  9. xxfatpigxx

Well, I appreciated the fight and pressure the team showed for about the last 25 minutes of the game, definitely looked like losing Jack rattled the entire group for half the game. Luke was stepping up as the game went on though and if not for some terrible puck luck this is probably a Devils win.

Though I was pretty bleh about the final score as my night got out of focus once Jack fell and slammed his body into the boards in the first 😭. We need ALL the healing words/ritual circles/superior potions of healing for Nico and Jack.

  10. SluttyToilet

Sucks to lose and it sucks even more to lose Jack. But everyone freaking out about missing the playoffs or the season being over need to chill the fuck out.

We have offense depth for the first time in a long time. I think most would agree we had some bad luck and calls that were missed. Not gonna win every game but we were with them the whole game.

For having to mix the lines and figure everything out on the fly I thought we did fine especially towards the end of the third. It won’t be easy but this team has enough talent to still win some of these road games

  11. MaroonMarauder

So many grade A chances which just wouldn’t go. Even without Jack they did enough to win the game, just the pucks didn’t go our way enough.

Hopefully we get good news on the injury front because losing Hart and Selke caliber players in a week is a pretty brutal blow.

  12. TheNightRain68

Lazar got his first of the season and Schmid had a .94 night. That’s about all the good stuff. Fuck back to backs and please get better soon Jack

  13. IntrepidBandicoot757

If Jack has a concussion (let’s hope it’s nothing super super serious and they’re just being super precautionary) I’d rather it happen now than later in the season when we need all of our players to be 100%.

  14. BillyJayJersey505

    Ruff got outcoached.

They did play well when they adjusted to the new line combinations though.

  15. DevilJacket2000

The Blues can just get fucked forever.

  16. buddyguy618

Worth noting Akira was very good tonight. Very important that he builds off that performance

  17. 4SK1N5

Where is Jack? Is he safe? Is he alright?

  18. Chico-_-

if Schmid is BACK back then I’m unconcerned, other than that first half of the 2nd, the team played fine without Jack, obviously not as well, but good enough to win. The thing is that now we have to see them adapt, the best puck carriers on the team until Jack comes back are Luke and Bratt, neither really carry the puck up the middle and create space in a broom closet like Jack, so the team has to change it up a bit. Not surprised they looked a bit out of sorts, thats a hard change to make on the fly.

  19. jerseygunz

Cursed game! Though they honestly didn’t play that bad.

  20. Toasttoasttoast1

Hard to come to grips that the Blues beat us at transition game. Hope Hughes is ok. Kinda looked like a trip on his initial fall

  21. MartysBetter29

This team is yet to give me the warm fuzzy feeling i had so many times last year

  22. MountainBean3479

This game was trash. The refs are trash. Our medical staff fucked up and should’ve pulled Jack for eval before he took another shift – it was up to their discretion and they took too long to make a choice. Should’ve at least told him to wait a min while deciding. Should know more in 24 hours. Best case scenario that can happen is in 48 hours he’s cleared no additional monitoring required. It’s probably not best case.

So now it’s NJ vs everybody including our own trainers / doctor. 😤

Eta: this is literally just the rules on the most recent concussion protocol that the league has. I have no idea about how Jack is or what the injury might mean. This is just the published protocol all teams must follow when a player is pulled for eval and/or hits their head directly or indirectly

  23. DevilJacket2000

Dawson needs to man up like fucking yesterday. If he’s gonna ghost when the teams needs him the most?

  24. Kornja81

Palat and Mercer should be on the 4th line and getting 4 mins a game. Not like they’re doing anything anyways.

  25. TurtleWater44

Ugly first half or so of the game but pretty good 2nd half. If anything this really felt like a scheduled loss. I’m fine with it. Just hope Jack isn’t out for more than 1-2 games.

Edit: jack’s probably missing more than 2 games, but I can still hope

  26. MountainBaker8217

Gonna keep this short because there’s not much to say…

    * ***THE GOOD*** – Akira Schmid had his best game of the season. I hope this is the game he can use to build up his confidence, get back to his fighting form, and show us that *Akira, Akira* again.
    * **also the good** – without Jack, without Nico, we still showed a lot of fight, we showed a lot of promise, and we really did have control of the game at the end of the second and for most of the third. Unfortunately, all of that meant fuck all.
    * ***THE BAD*** – dude, our defense and not just our defensemen, but the forward who are meant to be defending in the defensive zone…come on. If we’re looking at world where we’re going to be playing a number of games without Jack and without Nico, then our defense needs to clean its shit up.
    * ***THE UGLY*** – Jack Hughes Injury. That’s all.

I’m not going to try to speculate here on whats wrong, what got hurt, how much time he’ll be out or whatever. All I want is for him to be okay and if he’s not okay, I don’t want him back until he’s okay. Thats it. Period. Same with Nico.

This team – Jesp, Toffee, Timo, Mercy, Pally, Dougie, Holtzy, Lukey, and Haulzy should be able to churn out wins and churn out goals and good games until such a time that those two are back and **one hundred percent**.

I get the initial shell shock of losing the guy who’s lighting the league on fucking fire and I get how lifeless they looked at first, but they did shake it off eventually and they did put up a fight. It’s just that we went up against a Binnington who was doing his best 2019 impression and fuck that man anyhow.

see ya’ll on Sunday for Chicago.

*feel better Jack, we’re all sending you as much healing energy and healthy vibes as possible.*

  27. cmckeon45

Jack take my [insert upper body part here]

  28. sapphires_and_snark

Really, everything about this game sucked

  29. HopelessEsq

Could care less about the loss. Seeing Jack and Nico with upper body injuries is nightmare fuel.

  30. DevilJacket2000

What a goddamn disaster. How do we already have so many injuries?

  31. dudehimself3

It’s going to be a long few weeks. Going to have to scratch and claw for every possible point.

  32. IncreaseInVerbosity

Money puck has us on 4.28 xG. Hockey stats card has us on 3.56 xG. Sometimes it just be like that. Got the goaltending, and the Gods conspire to be against us. Hope Jack is a minor precautionary sit, hope there’s good news on Nico soon also.

Starting to become a little bit concerned about Dawson Mercer’s slow start. No doubt in mind he returns to being the player from the past couple of seasons, but it has been rough.

  33. The_Hoovs

Schmid, 31/33, .939. Stood on his head a few times. Had we not been playing 2019 Jordan Bennington, the game
might have a different outcome. Back end of a b2b, superstar goes out in the first. Put the game behind us. Onto Chicago on Sunday night.

  34. -PoeticJustice-

« we just want good goaltending! » monkey paw curls. prayers for Jack

  35. TH3N3G4TIV1

This loss isn’t the end of the world

We’re not gonna be a perfect team by any stretch of the imagination. we still have one of the strongest rosters in the league, and we’re gonna be playing lights out more often than not once the season continues

This loss stings cause we lost Jack, and we lost to that piece of shit binington

Let’s move on to Chicago and give bedard a proper welcome to the NHL.

  36. I’ve liked Lindy since he got here. I thought the calls to fire him last year were really stupid. I thought keeping him over Brunette made a decent amount of sense and that the multi-year extension was largely earned.

But if he got fired tomorrow for his handling of injured players, I’d fully understand. Nico clearly concussed? Send him out to get hit a second time before pulling him from the game. Jack breaks himself on the boards and barely moves on the ice for an alarming amount of time? Send him out to get hit again before pulling him from the game. Jesus fucking christ, injuries are going to happen and they suck but we don’t have to compound the problem and put our most crucial players at serious, unnecessary risk each goddamn time.

  37. BurnerAccount374

You know Jack wanted to absolutely clown Bedard on Sunday

  38. Wakanda_Forever

Sorry everyone for jinxing Jack with the Tim Hortons hockey cards this morning. Post deleted.

    😔

  39. avellinoblvd

feels so unfair that the first time in years we have a powerhouse offense, and Jack is rocking 2ppg, we lose top 2 Cs to injury in 10 games. Ugh

  40. BurnerAccount374

I know we’ve only been told upper body, but IF both Nico and Jack got concussed and sent back out to play, someone’s gotta get fired lol.

  41. dudehimself3

Man, I’m sick. The injuries to Jack and Nico are potential season ruiners. Grim.

  42. FARTING_1N_REVERSE

How bad was tonight? Was in transit for most of the game.

  43. StoneCold316DTA

Hockey gods hate us right now.

  44. SillySymphonyIII

This is what needs to happen.

    1. Bench Smith when Nico and Jack stop seeing stars and come back
    2. Call up someone with a set of fucking balls that will deal with opposing team players taking liberties on top Devil’s players.
    3. When the message is delivered league wide, let Smith play again
    4. Trade Smith at the Deadline.
    5. Repeat #2 as needed till players understand

  45. gleeson630

What happened boys? Was busy. Unlucky game and 2 eng against? One of our games where things shit just goes awry….anything aside from the obvious to be worried ab?

Saw the initial Jack injury. What are we gonna do at center? Haula, Mercer, McLeod, Lazar/Tierney…Idk how well we can hold up.

  46. sanbaba

Obviously, that was awful to watch. The injury to Jack aside, there was a lot of uninspired hockey being played tonight. It was heartening to see guys like Lazar, Luke, and Timo try to take the reins in the third but there were way too many passengers tonight. Yes, second game of a back to back… hopefully we bounce back well.

  47. Grimmer026

9 hits to 27? Got pushed around
