[Says he will miss time, though](https://x.com/devilsinsiders/status/1720967607350665694?s=46&t=geRqQa52usLZ3MkFmGf73w) https://x.com/friedgehnic/status/1720968831361769896?s=46&t=geRqQa52usLZ3MkFmG f73w

I guess not a broken collarbone but could still be out like 4-6 weeks or something

    This is incredibly vague still

  3. TronVin

Fine. Let’s get this out of the way now.

  4. McRibs2024

So my guess is shoulder is okay, concussion not so fine.

But it’s so vague who tf actually knows

Get some rest Jack, we’ll need your best later

  6. Sensitive-Lie-7219

Wow glad its just an upper body injury

  7. ScrewOff_

are fans still pretending its a shoulder/collar injury and not a head injury?

  8. Feels like a truly meaningless update since we don’t know what the fear was. Does this mean it’s not a broken collarbone? Or were they worried about a season or possibly career ending concussion? Has he not badly reaggravated his shoulder? I don’t know what we’re supposed to take away from this at all.

Scale of worst case scenario from highest to lowest:

    1. Career ending
    2. Miss entire season
    3. Miss regular season
    4. Miss 1/2 the games
    5. Miss about 2 weeks

If I had to imagine someone probably told Friedman, “Well it’s not as bad as we were thinking it might be.” That’s probably all that they were willing to divulge.

    and… unclench on 3… 2… 1… 💨

  12. b0bbyhimself

Did anyone see the hit he took on the very next shift? Is there a clip of it?

  13. MangoJuice82

    😮‍💨 speedy recovery, kid.

  14. theketchupthief

That’s so vague, it could mean anything from “he’ll be back in two weeks and he’s concussed” to “he’s out 5 months and you’re probably missing the playoffs but at least he can still play hockey”

I just worry that this winds up being an Aaron Judge situation where the team gets exposed without him

100 hundred percent minor concussion. Might of hurt shoulder a bit but likely nothing serious

So….. I’m not medical expert, but this seems like a month of missed time maybe? The use of the word « some » is very vague here to me. Not sure if it’s some time as in a few games, or some time as in a month or so

Concussion and or neck injury. His reaction was to go for the back of his head. Guessing some whiplash and concussion.

I’ll take the non-worst case scenario after how bad it looked like it could’ve been. Just take however long he (and Nico) need to get back to 100%. This team has the talent and depth to hold down the fort in the meantime.

My non doctor guess is they thought it was a possible neck injury since he hit the top of his head so hard, the force on the neck couldve been damaging. Maybe its a mild whiplash type thing. Or a concussion, which kinda pisses me off that they let him take another shift. Hopefully he’s back in 2 weeks and goes back on his brotherly point competition with bratt.

    Report: Worst case avoided.

Worst Case: Jack’s head fell off

  21. TallerWindow

“A worst-case scenario has been avoided, he’s not dead!”

  22. pretzelogically

You can’t replace a player like Jack or Nico but this team is deep and it’s really early in the season. Get the top 2 C’s healthy and make the playoffs. Everyone needs to step up and grow.

Sucks for the pure entertainment value of watching Jack & Nico do the things they do on a nightly basis but this team needs to figure out how to play a solid complete team game & not rely on those guys to carry them.
