What impresses me most is their poise with the puck. I’ve never seen this team play with such confidence. They don’t get rattled and make bad passes … they pivot away from attackers and make sure of their passes or freeze the puck along the boards …. it’s all really impressive. And in the offensive zone they can play a po9ssession game because of the confidence they play with…they seem to know they can play keep-away as long as they don’t get rattled. This has to be coming from the coach …. he’s done something very impressive with these guys.

I feel everyone around me is so used to the Canucks losing, they’ve lost the ability to notice the Canucks winning.
It’s like they automatically assume that if the Canucks are winning, it must mean there’s some secret new metric other than wins, like IDK, *super wins,* that secretly matter more in the NHL, and that the Canucks *must be* failing miserably at that secret metric and fans of other teams are snickering behind our backs about it.
Because they can’t *actually* be doing everything right, can they? Can they?

Demko with that robbery in the 1st on Johnson. It’s those things that swing a game and momentum. Don’t need Demko to get shut outs every game, but big game changing saves like that one, that’s the type of goaltending that wins cups. The Canucks tilted the ice after that save and totally dominated the 2nd period.

aren’t the canucks arguably (on paper at least) the most well rounded team in Canada? I mean we have solid goaltending which only Winnipeg seems to have, good top pair defensemen with a Norris winner which Edmonton seems to lack, and a top 10 1C. Outside of depth scoring and defense, I think we have all the pieces.
