Connor McDavid et Leon Draisaitl ne se ressemblent pas, mais même les téléspectateurs occasionnels de hockey de la LNH vous diront que les problèmes de l’équipe sont BEAUCOUP plus profonds que cela. Évidemment, les regards se tourneront vers le tandem de gardiens de but composé de Stuart Skinner et Jack Campbell, ainsi que vers la défense dirigée par Darnell Nurse et son contrat qui est plus riche que Cale Makar. La LNH met en lumière les prédateurs contre les pétroliers en 2023, nous pourrions voir des rumeurs commerciales circuler autour de cette équipe, restez à l’écoute des nouvelles du hockey.

Campbell, First round pick, and a prospect, som salary retention for Saros
Life long Oiler fan here….They have faced DeSmith, Wedgewood, Lankinen, Johnny Quick (O.K 37 year old back up Quick, not Vezina Quick)…and whoever Minney and Philly had in net…They are outshooting opponents, with their back up goalie in net….AND STILL LOSING!!!…..THAT is concerning….they have had an incredibly soft schedule up until now. The longest road trip was 2 games!!
…They have had 1–3 days off between all games and have mostly been at home. They are incredibly well rested……AND STILL LOSING!!!….Maybe that's the problem? They need a good old fashioned 3 week road trip and start playing more?
That all said…….They outshot Vancouver 40–16 and lost game 2, They outshot Winnipeg, had 5 consecutive penalties to kill in one period!!1…AND McDavid got injured and could not finish the 3rd period and OT…and the Oilers STILL could have won…..They have hit posts 3 times (Bouchard) in one game and lost by a goal. We have had Drai and Kane miss open nets and lost by one goal….a bounce here and there and this team has at least 5 or 6 Win's and we are not even having this conversation.
10 games down, 72 games to go. The next 10 will tell us a lot.
Problem with McDavid is that he is having a hard time laying of the skiing during the season.
So many ppl think its the goalies over the years but you could have Patrick Roy in his prime come into this situation and crap out a 800 save % cause this team cant play Defence to save their life. The D has ALWAYS been bad and its never been addressed properly.
If the Oilers want to try to improve their goaltending, FIRE THE GOALIE COACH. Dustin Schwartz has been the goalie coach going on 10 seasons now. What has been this team's biggest Achilles heel during that time? The goaltending. And he has been the common denominator. There's a reason that goalies that leave Edmonton tend to play better, and goalies that come to Edmonton play worse. And that's on top of the poor defensive play in front of them. This is something that should have been corrected years ago.
I’m sorry, but it isn’t the goaltending alone. The Oilers make good goalies look bad.
Team defence is the problem
Team confidence comes from a G who can make the saves. Solve the Goalie and the problem goes away. Bring up Rodrigue and flip a.coin for who sits in Popcorn Alley.

The people saying it's caused by "Bad vibes" etc are sadly numerous and idiotic. This team this year, had no chance of being a contender. Many called it including me. Holland made a ton of great moves and 2 really bad ones. The two bad (Nurse and Campbell) ones along with their coach who throws people under the buss (Koskinen for one) have destroyed this teams chances.
Eventually this team will have to trade away it's two stars. They will want a chance at a cup, and they know it will not happen in Edmonton.
As an Oilers fan, hopefully the match against the Sharks can boost their morale. Even then, I am worried that they might even lose to them. IMO, their defense and management need to be improved for sure, and worry about the goaltending later.
For a Flames fan, you post an awful lot of lot of Oilers content on your channel…
They need another overall number 1 to help them out
This is the start I’ve been hoping for 😁 can’t wait to see who’s the at the bottom of the Pacific. San Jose, Calgary, or Edmonton. Can’t think of three teams I’d like to see down at the bottom more. Go Knights Go
That time you said "Nurse makes more than Cale Makar", yeah, I had to go double check that…and then throw up a little.
Unless they fork out the cash for a top tier goalie, they will never see the cup. I am not gonna throw any names but the oilers really need to do some serious wheeling and dealing, get rid of the goalies, Kane in some sort of package!
