MUCH better game. Much more control. The Oilers still gave up way too many PP's (and two of those were 5 on 3) and they still are having trouble scoring with the man advantage but this was a much much better game. If you look at the base game stats the Oilers had way more shots on goal, more hits, much more faceoffs won (thanks NUGE, RYAN, and MCLEOD), way too many giveaways, way way more takeaways and 50% more (depending on how you look at it) blocked shots. Skinner did great allowing only 2 powerplay goals. Want a surprise, Adam Erne, in just over 3 minutes of play time had 1 shot on goal and 3 hits. Now comes the biggest test of the season, can they keep it up or are they going to be 3 toed sloths against Dallas. We'll see. Take care all.

  2. Just stopped by to see Brown, he has sure changed a lot since he was 17 which was the last time I saw him at a party…Fellas, we all just saw that the Oilers reverted back to last Years System to beat Calgary, They did exactly what we discussed right here just recently System-wise and those changes brought them back to a Possession strong style and returned their Identity Card to them. Good for Woody huh, he had gifted to him online the Core Vale Critical System Analysis he required to get his Team back on track. If you want we can break the changes down Zone by Zone and then to Playaction by Playaction then Pressure Relief focus by Pressure Relief Focus then Player by Player focus….. then we can link the base Statistics to each of the prior listed dynamic drivers….these traditional conventional base stats document every change and adjustment made. See Fellas the problem here is this…we know what they changed and we know why they made those changes and now we know what impacts those adjustments produced postgame….to my eye Woody and his Crew of Coaches should be sending their paycheques to us because we bailed them all out. For those who dont know or care Systems are a critical part of all Professional Sports hockey included…and he or she who can build it in a blink can also deconstruct it in a blink…..understand.Yes you surely do. If a Teams System is constantly exposed and deconstructed it experiences multiple prolonged losing streaks because by proxy it takes a long time to re-build or re-set a System and NHL Teams are like Sharks who can smell a single drop of weakness on the ice . Since 2009 the Oilers had these types of problems, 3 years ago those constant extended losing streak issues stopped and since then they have been surgically removed from the Playoffs more efficiently each year. Yes for a Pattern Recognition Specialist it takes only minutes to break down and expose any NHL System in the regular season this causes chronic problems and in the Playoffs it is terminal. I just want to see Woodcraft keep his foot on the gas pedal, because I love Firewagon 80s style Hockey and thats the Oilers current Identity like it or not. The Oilers better just make a run for the Playoffs and then just go All-In again come Playoffs and hope experience really means something.
