@Sabres de Buffalo

    Yes I’ll have the tandem tendies please

  2. I think UPL has been the better goalie, the second game against the Flyers was bad but I don’t think any goalie in the league wins that game the way our defense played, and he stole us the first Flyers game. Levi has been fine for a rookie but it should be UPL’s crease to lose at this point.

    I know I’ll be called a doomer or whatever, but UPL never passes the eye test for me. I feel like he has been very fortunate with results so far and the more starts he get the more he will come crashing back to earth. I think there’s areas of his game that are easily exploitable and the book will be out on him soon.

    With that said, Levi does pass the eye test but need to see some results. Couldn’t really blame him for any of the Toronto goals but at the same time felt like there were one or two of those he could have stole to really solidify himself. He is also smaller so those deflected pucks on net he will always struggle more with than UPL ever will.

    I hope to god I am wrong on UPL and one or both of these guys can step up and be the consistency in net that we have missed for so long. Either way, the team defense needs to be more consistent for these guys too and not leave them out to dry so much.

    They’ve both been bad. UPL is at .901 Levi is at .886. If we want to be a good team we need good goaltending.

    Comrie has been better than both of them, IMO.

    Can’t say that I agree that they’re both playing well, but this is the right move. You can tell Levi has the tools and just needs to put them together, but I’m a little less optimistic about UPL. He’d be solid on a team like TB/VGK that doesn’t feel the need to squeeze every drop out of their goalie, but sometimes I think he’s too slow to be a solution for the chaos that is Sabres hockey. Lehner was the same way. Looked slow and like complete dog shit when he played for us, but then looked like an above average NHL goalie the second he left. Would still be getting starts IMO if he spent less time fucking with snakes. Maybe we can find a to get the most out of him this season, but he can’t be relied on to steal games

    Levi is developing for the future, he is it. UPL is like the 5th guy in your starting pitching rotation, if he starts 30 games, you hope for 10 good/great starts, 10 pretty meh starts, and 10 probably pretty rough ones
