I thought they would eventually get out of this slump because they still have talent but it keeps getting worse, is this who the Oilers are this season? You could always make an argument they wouldn’t win a cup because of the D and goaltending but I’d never consider them missing the playoffs. This hole keeps getting deeper.

I said to my partner, that the Oilers weren’t actually that good last year. They weren’t a bad team, just not the Stanley cup contender people had them pegged as.They had several players having career years last year, along with McDavid having a historic season. And yet, they had a slightly worse year both in the regular season and in the playoffs as a team, compared to 21/22. They quite literally out scored their problems.
