I’m a graphic and sports designer and I created a series of new / revised jersey sets for each NHL team. Now that I’ve gone through each team, I’m choosing my favorite from each set and editing them on to players. For this edit, I made major changes from the original jersey design. Buffalo has always had a great color scheme, and I wanted to showcase that with a new throwback design that I believe is more appropriate for the brand than my previous throwback design.
The winter classic buffalo patch takes center stage on the chest. The sleeve and sock patterns are inspired by the Sabres’ original uniforms from the 70s and 80s. A cross lace is seen on the collar in reference to the Sabres’ crossed swords. The swords of the original logo move to the pants on each side. For the first time in franchise history, gold is slightly more prominently represented as the pants primary color.

I have a few thoughts, but it’s a solid concept imo.
Pros: Somebody finally agrees with me, we need a Sabre on the pants, however I’d have the hilt at the top, like it would be in a sheath. I dig the white shoulders, but it is very reminiscent of the Leafs RR2.
Cons: Too many one color stripes. If you alternated with white and brought them a bit closer, I think I’d like it more. Also, I think the blue collar would work okay w/yellow stripes.

I dig it!! My only thing would be to flip the sabre at the pants so it’s the opposite way, like it’s been placed in a sheath on the belt, as opposed to facing upwards.

The jersey screams Buffalo but needs more Sabres. Maybe crossed swords as shoulder patches?
The yokes are a little bland. Maybe make the whole jersey blue?

The belly stripes seem too low.
I’d love to see more references to the [OG Buffalo Bisons](https://nebula.wsimg.com/271eabeeb44a471e142d030080ce9cf6?AccessKeyId=D5F4416ED89E40A808BD&disposition=0&alloworigin=1) jersey. Make the sleeve stripes even throughout. It’d be interesting to see the words framing the buffalo as well

Needs something on the shoulders if you’re gonna go with white. Looks weird with that much blank white space. Solid concept though.
