Love Hronek so far the gamble seems to have paid off. My main hesitation was Yzerman moving on from injury prone D man but the value paid was worth this level of play when healthy. hope he is protected by other players on the team
What bounces? All of these players are expert shooters, Petey, Hughes, Boeser, Kuzmenko and Miller, they are also great passers, none of the goals they have scored are unusual or super lucky, they hit the post and miss the net as much as any other team, but when elite shooters get the type of opportunities their play is producing they will score more often than not.
Oilers problems start with Nurse. I would take 3 NHL Journeymen at 2.5mil-3mil than risk him. Then I would blame the goalies for their play. A NMC and high cap……lol

Oilers fan here. Gotta give credit to the canucks, it's aweseome to see them finally playing good hockey again, and I agree they are exciting to watch. I still think Vegas is the team to beat in the west, but I could see the canucks challenging them for the top spot later on in the season.
Not only the guys behind the bench but add in the twins, goalie coach, support training staff, etc etc. But no matter what the business, communication is the top item always, then tuning the skill sets to deliver what you ask for. And accountability. But can anyone say any player is screwing up and should not be out there? This is what makes a good head coach in any sport.

I agree with the pre training camp to close out the season as Shannon mentioned . Tankers were upset the Canucks were winning games. That was because they were playing for their jobs, Tocchet had set his bar!

People forget they got Beulivier in that trade . A good depth forward. I'd trade a 1st and a second for Hronek and Beulivier any day

So much good content for Rink Wide radio in Vancouver and the feud between Thomas Drance and Rick Daliwal is lit. The 2023 Vancouver Canucks are the only team since the 1984/85 Edmonton Oilers to score this many goals in their first 12 games of the season. That year the Oilers went on to win the Stanley Cup. You can certainly see the similarities between both teams. Pettersson {Gretzky}, JT Miller {Messier}, Hughes {Coffey}, Hronek {Huddy} Boeser {Kurri}, Demko {Fuhr}.
