Here’s my hot takes what about Jonathon Quick he’s playing a backup roll and he’s still pretty good. He is 37 but has a 1 year deal that’s perfect for the oilers to help turn this season around. New York has 3 goalies right now they might trade Quick if Edmonton offers Holloway and a 1st round pick. Next move Campbell retain 1 million and other another first round pick to Arizona for Matt Dumba. Matts contact is 4 million by retaining Campbell by 1 million its a 4m to 4m trade. Arizona has two young goalies no real starter they might take Campbell.

It seems this on the owner on down to the GM. Ken Holland needs to go before Jay Woodcroft. Dustin Swartz should have been gone years ago. Bring up Sylvain Rodrigue or hire Dwayne Roloson from Lake Superior university. Mike Smith would be a great hire for the organization in some capacity.Imo Dave Manson needs to be on the hot seat now. He needs to coach some of his defensemen like Ken Daneyko did when he got Adam Larsson to change his game around. Too many passengers on this club with little or no push back from some players. Especially the younger ones that Ken Holland either drafted or hasnt moved on from. Edmonton Oilers have a culture problem where this team is ran like Daryl Katz's Edmonton Country Club where there is little to no accountability and too many top management types siphoning off extravagant wages for a losing club.

Jay is a decent coach with lots of potentials but he is too soft on his players. Bouchard made the same mistakes repeatedly and yet Jay did not bench him at all. Where is the accountability?
No one wants to hear it but the truth is the Oilers have players like RNH, Nurse, McCloud, Ceci, Kulak are not earning the contracts they’ve been given. They’re all passengers and the forwards in that group dont produce at all and the defenders in that group don’t defend.
