I really enjoyed the explanation provided by [Hockey Psychology](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roPv-zxssoA) about the difference between team mechanics that have destroyed Huberdeaus production. I still believe Calgary is sitting on some amazing talent, just unable to restructure their team to accommodate.

  2. TotalReflection

Did they take away his A?

  3. Old-Yak-2378

    He’s horrible in Calgary

  4. Positive-Vibe420

It’s so weird what’s going on with Huberdeau… I feel bad for him, but has to have some personal problems.

I can’t fathom how bad he is since he’s in calgary compared to how dominant he was in florida.

He seems like he’s such a good guy

  5. chrishic99

I would have preferred they had me stay in the locker room instead of sitting at the edge of the bench completely embarrassed like that.

I feel for the guy. Hopefully he can get it together sooner than later. I’m rooting for him

  6. RangersGoalieFanClub

    I can’t believe his extension, 10.5 Million a year until he’s 38!!!!!

Whoever did that deal should be jailed in Calgary

  7. Electronic_Nail

He’s gonna get the Zach Parise
    and Ryan Suter treatment

  8. likeslululemon

Goddamn. Don’t like seeing videos like this.

  9. DavyDogFr

Yeah even though we won I’m not even happy at all after seeing this. Played such good hockey without him too. Hoping this sparks him 🙁

  10. Just curious: did he want out of Florida or was he simply a piece in the Tkachuk trade? Because he seems to be the biggest loser of that trade.

  11. adjectives97

This was incredibly hard to watch live during the game. It was a weird contrast where the game was a positive as a flames fan, but just that shot of a man so clearly inside his own head was tragic

  12. StonedImaculate420

Trade him for johnny gaudreau. Seriously, Johny hockey has sucked this year and has also been benched. The scary man (Sutter) is gone so why not go back to Calgary. Lmfao, can you imagine that 1 for 1 trade. Both teams could benefit, both players could benefit.

  13. timmyboyswede

Put him on in a new situation, without the pressure, on a team who’s already good, and a super sniper linemate and he’ll be good. He’s no franchise saviour but I refuse to believe he’s unplayably bad. He mightve regressed but you don’t just forget how to play hockey. A regression to 70 points would be alright.

  14. LemmySixx

But but but it was all Daryl Sutter

  15. Outrageous-Estimate9

    Flash in the Pan

    Lucky Streak

    etc

He had 1 good season & always folds up like a lawnchair come post season

I knew Flames would pay for this trade but I admit I am shocked at how much the bill was

  16. Do_You_Like_Jazz

Man, used to watch this guy when I was a kid when he was in the QMJHL this is just sad as hell

  17. Metalhead831

Honestly the flames didn’t play bad without him lol. It sucks but I wonder if Calgary can eat some of the salary and trade him with retained to patch up any weak spots in their lineup.

A $6 mil huberdeau could be a chance worth taking for some teams looking for a setup guy. Maybe he’d fit well in Washington? They kinda need a playmaking setup guy to help ovechkin over there

  18. Avs4life16

Calgary picked up the bad apples from the panthers. not surprising that they aren’t working out on a tea with less depth

  19. OLPopsAdelphia

I’m this video, he’s an incredibly useful D-man.

You see the way he’s ready to open and close that door! Talent found right there.

  20. laxcoach34

A very talented player playing on the wrong team!! He doesn’t have much talent to play on his line as well. This is terrible that they would embarrass him like this.
Calgary is an absolute joke. Trade him to another team where he will flourish like he did in Fla.

  21. Calling__Elvis

If you listen to any of the games when he played in Florida, you’ll notice how the play-by-play commentator says « Huberdeau » in almost every sentence. He was just all over the place and so important to the team there.

Hard to watch him fade away like this.

  22. Ta-veren-

It’s crazy what a different team can do someone. Him and kadri both.
Guess sometimes a line just clicks and that’s what got him his crazy 100+ points in Florida

  23. biff_jordan

Ouch poor guy. Also he has more points than Johnny Gaudreau

  24. _-_-____-_-____-_-_

    What’s going on here?

  25. redditmike1002

    Off to Edmonton perhaps??

  26. ThatAnswer4794

he opened and closed the door, like a boss.

  27. ThatAnswer4794

he may hit 30 points this year, resign until age 45

  28. durdensbuddy

He is a great player and deserves better, as a flames fan with his jersey I’d say he has a short shelf life in YYC.

  29. bored246813579

Toronto Jr is Vancouver. Vancouver Jr is Calgary. All city of losers. Should we ever expect anything else? lol

  30. you_dumb_fuckerinno

Have you seen the coaches post game? Says Huby was having an off night. happens to everybody.

    people need to chill

  31. Shy-Platypuss23

We ❤️ Matty. All those folks who said we got the short end because he was too old? Nah.

  32. dumbthiccrick

Damn I feel bad for him man

  33. rickyspanish895

So why exactly was he benched a whole period for?

  34. Hope Leafs fans are paying attention. This is Treliving’s legacy.

Matthews is gone in 4 years and this is what you’ll be left with.

  35. Wooden_Proposal_1615

He’s in a rut and he knows it. The whole team is, congrats on the first two in a row. It’s evident this team needs a shot of youth, to get the blood pumpin for the older vets. The only expectation in Flames land, right now is to rebuild. Eventually he’ll just be our 50pt player that gets us to the ceiling. Wish him the best, cause after all this is, just a game.

  36. MGM-Wonder

Fuck that really sucks to see, even as a rival fan. Hopefully he gets himself (or already has) a good sports psychologist and he’s able to bounce back.

  37. OIdChunkOfCoaI

I honestly think he would be fine just about anywhere else… you don’t go from 115 points to ass in two years. Being a forward in Calgary seems like one small step above being a San Jose Shark.
