Leafs are just getting started buds….they ALWAYS start the year like trash….then basically go on a rip the rest of the year and leave everyone else in the dust. Leafs take Atlantic this year
Defensive lapses are a team thing imo. If forwards aren't making their defenders lives easier, then those defenders are gonna make mistakes. Whether it's help down low, providing interference to opposing team's forechecks, or being an option for a breakout, competent forwards are necessary. The group up front is slower than last year and not as strong on the puck.
Sounds like a great trade. Calgary sends 2 valuable players to Toronto and retains half. Toronto sends a useless overpaid player to Calgary. I can't imagine what could be standing in the way of that.
Reaves needs to be sent down so the leafs can make a trade. It would be 200k against the cap that would leave 1.15M to acquire a 4th line guy with grit that can actually play.
