About time, and wow did the team play better with out him. Hopefully sends him a sign

Dude depends/affected way too much on/by his confidence, he’s a great dude but man he needs to see a Sports psychologist or something.
Pelts trying to cheer him up last year on the bench shows he is a deeply feeling human being. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s easy to spiral when things start going bad.
There’s a great hockey player in him, just the feels and emotions have taken him completely over. We want the best for you hubey.

I want him to be good so badly… it makes me kinda sad to see him like this.

I hope he gets out of his funk. Man, I feel for the dude. I agree he may have needed this to give him a jolt and light a fire under him.

The poor guy needs a slump buster in the worst way

Really tough to watch. I genuinely like Huby’s personality and I want him to succeed.

Huby needs his golden retriever pelts in the lineup stat! Can’t be blue when he’s around
YYCGolfer
Just needs a night at the Cat House with the boys.

I do feel bad for Huberdeau, but us winning when he’s stuck to the bench might help him.
Could take some pressure off knowing he doesn’t have to be the star, and then maybe he will loosen up and start playing better

Gaudreau for Huberdeau and everything will be right in the world.
….and we’ll be out of that contract two years earlier.

I think he should buy a Lamborghini and that will make him feel better to start putting goals in.

I feel absolutely terrible for him man, that’s so hard to see. You can tell he wants everything to work out more than anyone else but is stuck in this shitty rut

I remember in MLB when teams first started playing the shift. I thought, no need to change the rules, players can hit the other way or lay down a bunt. It was basically giving them first base.
Years later, it became apparent that there are many people in MLB who have exactly one life skill…hitting to right field. They aren’t able to do anything else.
I feel like Huberdeau is the same. He only has one skill that worked really well with the Panthers and that is all he is, a one trick pony.
I think it would be good for both us and him if we could move him to a team he could succeed with, but both he and the Flames shut that door with his current contract.

Kelly Hrudy really showed us empathy out there tonight when he saw what was happening to Huberdeau.
I am glad he did that.

We all gotta know no one wants him to succeed more than he wants to for himself and for the team. Hate to see it. You hope he figures it out but after ~100 games… it’s gonna be a long 8 years :/

I just posted this in the post game thread “I really like this perspective of he may now see that he’s not responsible for this teams performance. He’s coming from a market that couldn’t care less about hockey. He’s here now and is bombarded with expressions of disappointment. He’s gotta feel that there is a burden on his shoulders to carry, and tonight’s experience shows that isn’t the case. He can relax and enjoy the game. Joy brings performance.”

Yeah this doesn’t even feel like a win to me with Huby slumped over like that. Really hoping he gets his confidence back

Guy should fly his family in to watch a few games come hang out at the rink maybe get his confidence up again.
