Just what we need, an older defenseman who produces next to nothing except penalty minutes.

  2. cothomps

So, out goes Addison the smaller / more offensive defenseman – in comes a bigger more physical defender.

… where does that leave the roster once Spurgeon comes back? (Is there another defenseman on the way out?)

  3. JeezyThaSnowmann

This makes even less sense than trading away Addison.

  4. Dr_Daniel_Challis

LMAO Billy is senile at this point

Looking at his stats they’re low, but that doesnt really tell much of a story for a defenseman. Might need to consult some Bolts fans on what to expect

He’s definitely that big, heavy type of defensemen which that this team hasn’t really had in recent years. I was hoping they were going to sign him heading into the 21 season but he signed for Tampa instead. He’s not going to add much offensively, but you don’t play nearly 800 games in the NHL from being unreliable so hopefully he can bring a bit of stability to the third pair.

Edit: He’s also been a regular in Da Beauty League in Edina over the summers so seems like he was already living in MN at least part time.

Remember him from his BUF days as just a big physical net clearing type of defender. Don’t know how much he has left, but seems like a good calming type player for the 3rd pair similar to what Maroon has brought for the forward depth.

A decade older than Addison, does nothing offensively or defensively, and takes a lot of penalties. Truly a couple of stinker trades by BG today.

  9. Red_0utlaws

Interesting trades. Id say let BG cook.

Bogo and Big Rig got the cup together with the Lightning in 2020.

  11. Squeakyevil

I dont know anything about this dude, but I’m a big fan of the name Bogo.

  12. CitizenStrife

Russo reporting Spurgeon will be back, and going forward, things will probably be.

    Brodin-Faber (Yes please)

    Middleton-Spurgeon (double yes please)

Mermis-Bogosian (hey, the big guy we haven’t had since Soucy)

    Merrill (keep him there)

If the defense actually plays…DEFENSE, it’ll be worth the hassle.

Remember when people were saying we needed more size on Defense during the playoffs? Well, here it is.

  14. trillwhitepeople

The plan is always to get old and slow.

  15. vedicardi_lives

    bogo rules this is sick

  16. _granny64

I like it. They need more physically on the back end in addition to Middleton. Bogo has some sneaky offensive skill too. Goose and Merrill will both look better in their own zone with Bogo as their partner.

  17. cisforcookie2112

Let me guess…he’s a good locker room guy.

    So BG turned

    Addison –> Bogosian

    2025 7th rd pick –> 2026 5th rd pick

Added Adam Raska as basically a toss in, in the Addison trade.

GMBG not sitting around that’s for sure.

Billy changed who sits in the press box for a huge chunk of the season and did right by Addison by giving him a chance to find a daily roster spot somewhere else. Got a little bit more grit in case we need it every once in a while.

  20. We got one of the worst defensemen in the league, but yay he’s big!!!! Big!!! Grit!!!!

  21. TheSkeletones

We said the exact same shit about Maroon, and look at how much crow had to be eaten already. The team makes the player, not the other way around.

  22. The_Next_Wild_GM

Bogo has been a pylon for years, I hope he proves me wrong with the Wild

  23. FrankReynolds

My mom always said that if I don’t have anything nice to say about someone, I should just stay quiet.

    I’ll stay quiet.

  24. KaprizFox

Now queue all the Wild fans who have been screaming for us to get bigger on the back end suddenly change their mind and cry about this trade. It was a 7th, chill. Let the guy play a game before we judge him.
