Oilers secretly tanking for their 47th 1st overall pick to build around.
Edmonton is the organization where good or at least decent goalies go to die!
In all honesty with a little bit more information – the Oilers were merely able to outscore their issues in the last 18 months. Problem is – their goal engine has exactly two cylinders and if one or worse both of them run dry, they are in a slump. Where is their secondary scoring? While I believe their forwards are much better than their defense, those forwards might not be Selke Trophy material either. So the defense doesn't support their forwards enough at the same time their forwards don't backcheck hard enough…
The Oilers have a skater problem and not a goalie problem. I would be interested to see how long Hellebuyck would last before he gets the bus ticket to the AHL…
I find great insight in your breakdowns! This is the kind of stuff I could watch on repeat.
Mcdavid cant be another inginla … A good star with no cup
That's an obvious, they need are good 2nd and 3rd lines. It's can't be only on McDavid and Draisaitl. Yes they are still have an good potential to playoff, but without at least good second lane – they are doomed
I'm the greatest what are you talking about
I think he want to get traded
As a biased Oilers fan I truly believe they can and WILL turn it around. But I don't know if they will soon enough.
Vegas really broke Edmonton in the playoffs than Vancouver did the rest
Clearly not the best player on the planet then huh?
As a life long Red Wing fan, the problem is your GM. Holland was fine when he had an unlimited wallet in the pre salary cap days in Detroit. But the Wings went straight downhill with Holland handing out long term bad contracts that they are only now clearing the last of them off their books. Holland has a poor understanding of putting a team together with a salary cap. And, he's probably the guy choosing the head coach……..
Oilers became the anaheim angels of los canada
If you told me Bedard and the hawks would have a better record than McDavid and the Oilers I would’ve asked for some of that fire crack you were smoking
not broken shattered. This cant be fixed easily. No goaltending and terrible defense. Yuo cant win with two players. If they lose 3 more games in the month its done. They cant be fixed.
Can you please do a video on Alec Martinez and how he gets so many blocks?
I think a major Part of it too is the Duo of Mcdavid and Drai. McDavid cannot captain a team he does not have the personality, the toughness,or the head space to do so. Then you got Draisaital the big baby of the team who is still recovering Psychologically over that Pietrangelo Slash from the playoffs last year lol
i'm a pens fan but have made 2 futures bets on the Oilers winning the cup, this year and last year. shit man, this is crazy but let's face it, this is the dark side of why we love hockey, it's incredible what has happened to them so far.
Oilers are terrible. Have been terrible for basically the past 30 years (since the Messier Cup). Suffer from the quick-fix mentality, and, paying too much money to one or two individuals, obviating the ability to build a TEAM. Nothing will change in that regard. Then, add in that no high-talent person (e.g., coach) would EVER leave the USA for Edmonton, and, well, I see basically an AHL team perennially in Edmonton (forever).
i'm rooting on sharks.. hope they win against oilers
