I get the Duchene move was good, but y'all are just writing off losing Subban like it was no big deal. You just lost probably your best player and a major locker room leader and just say "oh it’s fine." Yes they probably make the playoffs again, but I don’t know that they’ll be as strong as they were last year. Subban was also a power-play leader for them, so…

Yeah Turris played well…..against mediocre teams, but faded into the shadow of the Monster. Twice! And hey, if he doesn't make as a 3rd center, he can come back and play in a real mans Liiga xD

If anything Subban’s departure is great for this team even without the Duchene signing. Subban matched up with Ekholm and Ellis with Josi. Ellis wants to play like Josi and get down behind the offensive net and dish out passes but he can’t because Josi being the captain and better player gets first dibs so Ellis has to play back and be defensively mindful off an odd man rush. Pairing him with Ekholm who is a big blue line guy will really let him play his game.
