Watching your captain try to start something, then get chicken winged. Have only Hyman try to help, [by ramming his face into JT's punches]. No one else on the ice does anything, this is not a good team. Some great players, but bad team. imo

Why in Gods name would the Oilers think the solution is Blackwood? Outside of his injury concerns, the Devils (a contender) moved on from him for a reason and he’s part of the 2nd worst goaltending tandem in the NHL right now. This is what’s wrong with this franchise, chasing mediocrity and forgoing account and results to maintain a “nice guy” sentiment in the room for media and fans.
I like Woodcroft but he needs to get serious and hold players like RNH, Nurse, Kulak, Bouchard and Desharnais more accountable as well as figure out steady lines that have all three of McDavid, Draisitl and RNH playing on their own lines DRIVING the play.
Also, Dustin Schwartz needs to be let go ASAP and Ken Holland needs to figure out how to move Campbell’s contract, bring in a PROVEN NUMBER 1 goalie as the team’s psyche is damaged and has to BELIEVE if they put the effort forth to score that it won’t be undone in minutes by a defensive breakdown or pathetic goaltending….Ken Holland passing on Wallstedt is something that was unfortunate back then because as fans we knew how sh*t the goalies were but now it’s gonna be unforgivable if they don’t figure something out and get in the playoffs THIS YEAR!
All they need is three or four more first overall draft picks………..

So now a game against the Sharks is the most important game to look forward to & think about?? Not the Stanley cup finals but the Sharks. Too much cheerleading & not enough analysis.
Try this… there’s a huge power struggle in management for control of the team. Is it a coincidence that as soon as Jackson (Connors agent) is named president the team seems to collapse?? Will Jackson become the next GM?? Can he be GM while he’s a player agent too?? Would the other players stand for another players agent being the one who calls the shots?? Connor isn’t injured. He’s playing half hearted on purpose. He’s saving himself for better days. Why?? Better days when his buddy is running the team or better days on another team?? All good questions worthy of analysis.
The standings position the Oilers are in at the quarter mark i.e. 20 games is where they will likely finish the season (90% accurate). Based on the next 9 games, I am pegging them to have a record of 5-13-2 which would mean they would finish the season almost dead last.
Why arent the coaches on the hook? I coach squirts in MN when the team struggles we ask ourselves what the COACHES need to change… In Edmonton all we hear is blame on players… Yes there are goalie issues but I say look at the goalie coach… The team is unraveling with their star players playing average and the team has no chemistry… A good coaching staff would have never let it get to this point and I am not just talking about their poor record… You have to hold someone accountable I get it but are they holding the RIGHT people accountable? But hey… I coach 9 and 10 year olds so what the hell do I know 😂

The oilers said "FU" to management. "We're not playing until we get a real goalie" Getting rid of Campbell is the start. NOw get rid of the goalie coach and get that real top 10 goalie if you want a cup.
Hmmmpppp….a loss against the Sharks is probable ….the coach has absolutely lost the room ….a carry over from the play offs last year ….the defence is pathetic and the losing is now the new Oiler game plan ….get bad enough the brass will eventually fire J.W.

…and half a day later…the Sharks can tie Edmonton in points with their second win of the season tomorrow. Tough to even imagine such a scenario before the season began. If somehow San Jose passes Edmonton in the standings…now that's laughing stock material.

Paying two or three people kills your chances of building a team. Cap can only stretch so far. Same thing in Toronto. I’d sign Nylander and trade Matthews for a buttload instantly turning it around
