I love that no one on the team seems happy with a 5-2 win.

Desmith searching for a skilled guy in the bottom six… « Hoggy ».

All seriousness the boys didn’t look good tonight, but it also looks like they found a way to win without exerting a ton of energy.

I felt a lot of teams would do this to us last year: the opponent would look very lazy and reserved and then would turn it on when they needed to and win the game.

Can we make a sharks game thread?

  5. St_BiggieCheese

Time to become a diehard Sharks fan for 60 minutes.

10-2-1 the miracle start continues. Soak it all in cause I’m fairly confident this isn’t happening again.

    Canucks 23/24 slogan:

Why take many shots when few shots do trick?

Team was not great tonight, maybe their worst game of the year outside of Phili. However, great road game all things considered. Ottawa is a fast, talented team and we did our best to hang with them and we got the W. Great road 3rd period to close it out. This was probably the worst game I’ve seen from Hughes in a long time. I suppose he’s allowed to have a mid game every now and then. Miller was great. He wasn’t amazing but he did a good job holding the fort when the team looked lost and that go ahead goal at the end of the second was exactly what the team needed. What a player. Myers looked good. Friedman is basically Connor Garland but on defense. Cole was fantastic, probably the reason we won the game with that excellent defensive play and flip up to Miller for the 3-2 goal. DeSmith looked pretty shaky but he held out for the win. Hoglander may have been our best player. What a skater and great stick skills.

Overall, solid W, solid road game. We weren’t the best team tonight but still managed to dominate the score board. Go Canucks baby

I have to laugh. They showed the next 8 games and I’m like « Yup, that’s 8 wins. »

Kuala Lumpur airport hype! Canucks about to Singapour it on vs the Leafs!

  12. onahalladay

Glad this game is out east so we can all watch the Sharks game after.

  13. SloJuicer

We played a sloppy game for the most part yet ended up with GF/GA on par with our average. It’s been more that a decade since a Canucks team can put up this kind of performance

Benning drinking like Ron Burgundy in a dive bar right now….

  15. xannydimes

this is honestly the first Canucks team since 2011 that can play legitimately bad and still win comfortably, obviously you don’t love to see it, but it is a great sign

  16. Modsrbiased

Reminded me of the flyers game where you could tell we didn’t have the legs. Tocchet was working them a little too hard in practice maybe. It’s important to build up your legs early in the season, we got away with it tonight.

Shouts to PDG. Guy had some hustle on both ends. Awesome.

  20. Veros87

Petey is so good, even when he has an off game he gets a bajillion points.

  21. macland

Good teams find a way to win on their off-nights

  22. Lopsided_Option_9048

Why isn’t anyone complaining about the officiating ?

God knows we did so after the Rangers game, God knows the Sens got stiffed with a bad call that led to Petey’s PP goal.

    Weak sauce.

  23. wetbandit1

Eating a whole Giuseppe rising crust pizza for every point Phil gets

  24. tirius99

If the Canucks can go 15-4-1, I think that’s a good first 20 games.

  25. Blenchers

Has Gonchar been on the bench every game so far?

  26. twiddlybits1978

Ferraro and Shorty make a great duo, hope that becomes a permanent thing in the future

  27. TemplarParadox17

Petey has more 3 point+ games than 0 point games.

  28. yetistar

I’m getting a premonition that the lesser Connor is going to go absolute ratmode

  29. PickAxeCA

Sharks can swim underneath an oil slick… straight to victory.

  30. Postisto

Ah Oilers game is region locked…

  31. International_Pen478

Don’t care for these early games out east but I caught the end of the third. And i see Petey keeps on keeping on huh. Crazy because it doesn’t look like he’s even hit his stride yet here he is, leading the league

  32. JunoVC

    Away games record.
    #4-2-0
    HELL YEAH BLAZE IT

  33. Inspect1234

Petey’s line should be called the lady byng line. Can’t think of three nicer guys.

  34. helixflush

Crazy that our goal diff is +33, even if you subtract the 10 from the Sharks we’re still in first place for that stat
