I was at the game last night, a few things I noticed:

    1. Non-Canucks related but it looks like the Sens do something kind of cool during warms up which is let a few wives and small children of their players watch the warmups from the penalty box. It looked like Giroux and Zub’s family were in there and one other. It was neat to see not only how the players come over to see their family but how the other players make a point of coming over and goofing around with the kids as well. Tkachuk and Mathieu Joseph in particular were pretty funny making faces and messing around with the kids. So many people get caught up in the fandom and passion for hockey and forget when we’re grilling these guys that they’re dads just like you and me.
    2. The Canucks were obviously not at their best – but Ottawa didn’t really dominate at all either. There were very few cases where the Canucks were held in their zone for long periods of time and really only a few quality chances. A lot of their shots were simple saves for DeSmith.
    3. JT Miller’s shot on the 3rd goal was just as sick in person.
    4. Once the Sens tied it at 2-2 they did have quite a bit of momentum and the building was alive. Past Canucks teams would have allowed at least another goal or two by the end of the period. Instead they composed themselves and took both the team and crowd out of it with the Miller goal.
    5. 3rd period was exactly what you want to see from a good team and exactly what we haven’t seen in years. There was no chaos, no scrambling around just trying to hold on – they looked mature and confident they were not only going to get the win but put them away for good in the process.

Lots of Canucks fans there as usual.

Lastly I have to dad-brag a bit as I got to have a super proud moment. I brought my 7 year old son with me to the game. We went down for warmups and he actually managed to get a puck which he excitedly showed me. He watched the rest, and as the last few players were going off the ice I watched him turn to a little girl (about 4 or 5) and gave her the puck.

    Overall great night in Ottawa!

Thanks Sharks for keeping our oceans oil free

Just in case anyone missed it – the Canucks are third in league standings and the Oilers are 31st. This is what heaven feels like.

Glad the Canucks won (obviously) but the end of the Sharks/Oilers game with the 6 on 4 was a bit more exciting. Good day for hockey! (Unless you’re an oilers fan)

After watching the game last night, I couldn’t help but feel that if Ottawa had scored more goals and we had scored fewer then Ottawa may have won this one.

The Oilers sub finally allowed memes after all these years. It took losing to the fucking Sharks for the mods to face enough pressure to lift the meme ban.

What does this have to do with the Toiletbowl?

Can someone calculate the oilers doom number?
