I can believe it. Zadorov for $3.75 million is a defensemen the Leafs want. Now who are the players that the Leafs are giving up that the Flames want?
Leaf fans please stop saying Klingberg. If you throw klingberg into the trade the Leafs have to add another pick to the deal to get Calgary to take that salary.
And if you want/expect Calgary to retain salary, again that costs you more.
Some 3rd or 4th prospect from a prospect desert inside the Toronto organization is not enough. Calgary is still trying to make the playoffs this year.
Leafs depth scoring is miserable. if you have an "offensive" prospect who can't crack the Leafs line-up, he is not that good.
Nobody wants Nick Robertson so I'm thinking Bobby McMann isn't on anyone's radar. He's a 27 year old failed prospect. Zadorov is a big Physical NHL mid pair defensemen. McMann was never drafted and has had a couple selfish gunner seasons with the Marlies the last two years. He is not mentioned, ever, as a top ten Leaf "prospect". If he's a throw in then it's plus plus. Say first round pick and Easton Cowan. Or Matthew Knies and a second round pick . You have to throw in Jarnkrok to make the salary cap work.
Honestly if you are going to speculate you have to include actual players the Flames would want.

No better place for a fresh start than Toronto? Who are you kidding? They can sit on the guy and lots of teams want defensemen. Leafs will have to step up if they want him.
Zadorov would be a great addition for Toronto Zadorov can score also and hits and blocks shots. However it would really depend what they need to give up to aquire Zadorov. There qill be plenty of interest in Zadorov as many teams would like tonaddd someone of his caliber.
Toronto also need to put Timmins in the Line up when he's back and healthy and give him a proper opportunity.
Unfortunalylt Toronto is going.to have to be creative in a.move to aquire a a couple of Defencemen. Unless they can include Klingberg in a deal, so i really believe any trade is gojng to be a larger one to not only a couple of useful and potential fits with the team, so i see a bigger move. So im looking forward to seeing if Trieliving can swing a deal of that caliber well with Toronto.

Zadorov does not have a no trade clause. He has no leverage. He may want out but do the leafs have what the flames need. Will leafs overpay after the game he played in TO.
A lumbering defenseman is not what the Leafs need. They need a good defensive defenseman, and more than one. Right now, Leafs' defense stinks and skilled players, not tough guys, EW what the Leafs need.
