  1. Dim Jim is a phoney imo. Linden has witnesses for what he says, dim Jim has what he said to aquaman. Dim Jim took Virtanen, Joulevi on his own and look what happened. He traded McCann, Forsling, and others just to save his job. He screwed the whole team up. Linden was right 100%. Imo.

  2. Please we need a goalie! Why is it that when we trade players and goalie they do better than when they play for us. We can’t blame the coaches. We have had more coaches than any other team. The fish rots from the head down. I have been an oiler girl since the creation of the Oilers and I bled orange and blue, but how long do the fans have to keep putting up with this crap. Some people have to go. And I mean the old boys club that is running this circus.

  3. Get Jack Campbell to talk to Tony Robbins. When Kelly Hrudy was going through a bad slump, he publicly credited Tony Robbins for helping him get out of his own head and saved his career.

  4. The Canes are so good??! I know Panarin,on an individual level ,got plenty of love from Jeff but would it kill you boys to pump the NYR a bit… nonbelievers?

  5. The Oilers problems are directly related to managements understanding that Drai and McD will NEVER resign with the Oilers. Drai has already checked out so look to Drai to be traded in the next 12-16 months. Once Drai is gone, McD is next to be traded so expect that in the next 24-30 months. Management has instructed the rest of the circus to start tanking so that the team can improve their draft position over the next two years. Management is making a power play to tell Drai and McD that if they don't want to stay in Edm, then their next two years are really gonna suck. But there is still a market for both of these players so it is time for management to start the transition away from Drai and McD. In the short term, they need to dump Kane simply because he is such a distraction to the team. Not truly worth the 5M cap hit.

Nurse is a bigger problem because his contract is horrible so the Oilers will be stuck with that albatross for some time. The Campbell contract is another dog so the Oilers have very few options to rebuild now. The team they have assembles around Drai and McD is just not good enough so they have to blow it all up and start again. May as well keep Nuge and Hyman and try and pick up some young talent in the Drai / McD trades and build through the draft.

  6. Let’s take a look at moving Campbell as a cap dump which is what it is. Let’s take a comparison of the Kings trade this past summer of Cal Petersen. He was traded to Philly as a cap dump by LA. He has this year and next year at $5M hit. LA also sent Sean Walker (#5 Dman), Helge Grans (top D prospect), and a 2nd rd pick. LA got two aged AHLers in return. LA also had to take on $2M of Ivan provorovs contract. Basically, in order to trade a bad goalie with a bad 2 year contract they had to also deal a roster player, a top prospect, a 2nd round pick and still retain a couple million of someone.

Campbell has 5 more years at $5M cap hit. Multiply LA’s deal by 2 or 3 and they might get it done. I would say that deal by LA was the best deal of the offseason.

I told my buddy this past summer that Edmonton should have offered nugent Hopkins along with Campbell and a pick this past summer for peanuts. Nuge’s value is never going to be higher than this past summer.

  7. Is not the case that the Oiler’s loss is proof that the offence and skill first ethos for team construction is fundamentally flawed. As a Leaf fan…I was anticipating the loss for this reason…to prove the point and help our own team in TO to pivot from same model before we end up in the same faithful place.

  8. I knew this was going to happen. To many chiefs, not enough Indians.

  9. Trade Draisaitl for Saros and Fabbro, maybe Tyson Barrie too, to better balance the cap effects?

  10. If ppl want to waste their time watching other teams lose, then so be it. I only want to watch my team hopefully make the playoffs and go on a deep run…

  11. 1:00:00 birth rate in Switzerland is very low, their youth hockey suffers from low enrollment, which is why so few Swiss born players. They still have top notch system to develop players just a small player pool

  12. The problem is. They pump mcd so much that the rest of the team knows that if they win the Stanley cup, then people will say mcd won a cup, not the edmonton oilers won.

  13. not sure why so many people picked the Oilers to win the cup, bottom 6 forwards are below average, d core is led by Nurse enough said and the goaltending is below average. Didnt expect them to be this bad but Stanley Cup fave, c'mon
