That's not the narrative in T.O. The narrative is the Nylander has been the Leafs best player in the playoffs and now he's developed into one of the league's best players. He'll get his money and the leafs will make the necessary room to keep him a leaf. The Leafs will not let him walk for nothing.

  2. Contract player playing in a contract year. His ask back in 2018 was too high, ask in 2022 will be too high for a team already strapped for cash. Thanks for upping the stock value Willy, pack your bags.

  3. Its nice to see how hard Nylander works for the puck, its nice to see it paying off so far this season.

  4. If Brad T called up Nylander's agent to offer him what they wanted prior to the season, the agent would probably laugh and say we'll wait until the end of the season.

  5. He´s got such smooth zone entrys, he radiates confidence and is almost impossible to steal the puck away from, really fun to watch!

  6. Anyone saying Willie doesn’t get it done in the playoffs and doesn’t tear down the rest of the team first aren’t watching the games. He’s easily one of their best playoff performers. Admittedly, no great, still, but using the playoffs as an argument means we should get rid of the whole team ahead of him – because he shows up more often than the team does in the postseason.

  7. Four players will cost over $10 million if the Leafs sign Nylander to a $10 million contract. I really don't see how you win a cup with that pay structure. I guess the Leafs hold out until Tavares is a free agent in a year and hope he takes a pay cut because you still have Marner to re-sign as well.

  8. I agree he is great but we will have to get rid of one of the top 4. We will not be able to have a great blueline if we keep all 4. Tavares and Marner contracts runs out in 2 seasons. JT will sign for much less, probably 3 or 4 million because he will be 35 years old and for me Marner is who we must let walk. He is the easiest to shut down in the playoffs. His cap hit is 10 mil Which can get the Leafs a couple fantastic Defensemen. Marner has a no trade clause which means we will not get anything for him and Nylander is actually the only one in the Top 4 who can be traded. He has a 10 team no trade clause. However I don't believe any of them will get traded. The above is only what I think should happen.

  9. Nylander has been the best leaf in the playoffs year and year out. There’s been disappointing exits from the playoffs but it’s never been his fault

  10. He’s playing at another level now, as if it’s almost too easy for hm! Sign him for what he wants and go for the cup.
