It’s not Kakko’s fault but he’s doing nothing of tangible value to drive offense either.
Acknowledging that Kreider and Zib are showing nothing 5 on 5 isn’t mutually exclusive with acknowledging continued offensive mediocrity from Kakko.
Kreider and Zib should be split up. Yes. But it’s also possible that that it’s becoming apparent that Kakko’s ceiling is a good 3rd liner.

I mean, I haven’t watched enough games to have an opinion, but both things can be true. It could be not his fault and still not be a good fit for the top line. It doesn’t mean he’s dog shit it just means that Kreider and Mika are 1st liners and Kakko is not a good fit with them and they’re not breaking up the 2nd line so he’s just kind of in limbo…

They should switch krieder and put cuylle on line 1 and see what happens. As long as he’s pp1, krieder will still score a lot of goals.

The difference is Mika will end the season between 35-40 goals and 80-90 points, kreider with 40+ goals… and Kakko will end the season with 12 goals and 11 assists.
