Avec la victoire des Leafs 5-2 contre Vancouver hier soir. Sheldon Keefe a dépassé Mike Babcock au 5e rang de tous les temps pour les victoires d’un entraîneur feuille.

Keefe is a good coach. Anyone who says otherwise is smoking crack.

The fact your win % can be .49 and still make that list is kinda funny.

  3. Suitable-Way-5762

People that constantly say he’s “out coached “ have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about

  4. Comfortable_Bend9175

Keefe defenders out in full force when things are going good crickets when Keefe is losing us games.

The amount of too many men penalties alone is bad enough for Keefe. Tack on to that the fact he continued to deploy the shitty 4th line at the worst possible times a few games ago and it doesn’t look good. Anyone could take this team and win games, the roster put together prints regular season wins. Once shit actually gets hard and coaching actually matters, Keefe crumbles. Defend him today for sure, he did good last night, but his regular season record is not a reflection of his ability, his post season record is

  5. Still think Burns and Quinn were two of the best. Not throwing Keefe shade, by the way.

  6. AustonDadthews

crazy to think he’ll end the season only 18 wins back of top 3 all time

But wait all of the backseat drivers in this sub told me this guy wasn’t any good. Guy has a .674 win % people.

And yet somehow we all think it’s Keefe’s fault?

Facts are fun. Things that I found interesting, per wikipedia…

16 of our 40 head coaches spent their entire coaching career with the Leafs. (15 if Keefe moves somewhere else at some point)

Conn Smythe, our 10th head coach, was the first who didn’t spend entire head coach career with the Leafs

Just 6 Leafs head coaches account for our 13 Stanley Cups

Only 2 head coach’s won multiple Cups with the Leafs

10/40 head coaches also played for the Leafs (Dick Duff coached 2 games but is not credited as having played for the Leafs, despite his wikipedia profile picture being him in a Leafs jersey, so this should be 11/40 )

21/40 coached for more than 100 games

Our 5th head coach was the first to record a tie

4 head coach’s have coached the Leafs to a playoff tie game.

16 head coaches have never coached the Leafs in the playoffs (this one was a little tricky, we’ve had a couple coaches interm for a few games later on, and I’m doing this from from my phone so I may have missed this by 1 or 2 either way while bouncing back and forth)

King Clancy coached 210 games from 1953-1956. And 10 games in 1966. And 15 games in 1972.

Punch Imlach coached 760 games from 1958-19691. And 10 games in 1980.

Lets look at playoff winning percentages as well

  11. hexsealedfusion

174 – 76 – 32 is actually an insane record to have as a head coach.

  12. Babcock is a scumbag, but I think his coaching job from 2015 – 2018 was absolutely elite with relatively poorer rosters.

Keefe has been okay to good overall, but I also believe the 2021, 2022 and 2023 rosters were the best Leaf rosters ever, with 2022 being the best overall.

Unfortunately despite usually being the more talented team against our playoff opponents, we’ve usually been less tough and had poorer goaltending.

  13. The_Dale_Hunters

Crazy to think we only had Burnsie for 4 years.

  14. the_noodle_

Also passes Pat Burns in games coached last night

  15. burkie17

I can’t believe I haven’t heard of Punch Imlach until now especially considering how cool that name is

  16. picklesaredry

I don’t remember Ron Wilson winning that much lol

  17. He’s got a great structure for handling teams in general.

He can’t handle one on one coaching battles.
